During check-in, the staff assigned me a room on the residential side and upgraded me to one with a large window. Although construction on Xinjian Road starts at 7 AM, I couldn't hear any noise from my room, which was a huge plus. (Earplugs and a steam eye mask were also provided upon check-in.) On the second day, we were able to get a late check-out until 2 PM, which gave us plenty of time to explore and have brunch before comfortably returning to check out. We ended up having brunch at Lao Taiyuan (South Store), trying Taiyuan Tounao and lamb soup. The meal for two cost 50 RMB and was very satisfying. Afterwards, we took a stroll around Zhonglou Street, Gulou Street, and Liuxiang. The room featured a huge 65-inch TCL TV. It was great to relax in bed and watch TV at night, and I also appreciated the screen mirroring feature for phones. The mattress was very comfortable too. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.
