A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Shaving, brush, tea bags such as tea and green tea, cosmetics, cotton swabs, cotton, etc. The public bath is also fashionable with designer specifications. There is also an open-air bath. You can enjoy two different design hot springs in the men and women replacement system. The atmosphere is like a public bath in a luxury inn. It doesn't seem to be in front of the station. There are also view lounges and foot baths on the top floor. Convenient location and recommended for sightseeing and business. The staff has a level difference depending on the person. Hotel is in a very good location being very near to the Old Town where the attractions and restaurants are. However there is limited parking space, and we had to park in a public car park 100m away. Staff were friendly, but communication was a little difficult as they were not very conversant in English. Overall nice hotel.

We were lucky to stay at Mercure Takayami on their opening night. Everything about the hotel was above our expectations. Rooms were a very comfortable with attention to detail. Having USB and USB C charging ports for our electronics next to the bed was very convenient and meant we didn't need to search for our Japan power adaptors. This hotel has been well designed with a focus on local traditional carpentry and joinery skills. When you book this hotel make sure you book a room that includes access to the private Onsen. We had an open-air experience while we watched the snow from our private onsen. Breakfast had an extensive range of Tradition Hida dishes and Western choices, with different options available each day. This was a great way to try Hida Beef Curry and Hida chicken cooked on a traditional grill. Staff were very helpful going above and beyond with their dedicated and personal service, even searching the internet for me to find a store that sold Yama Cola. We will be back to stay again and will try to stay longer next time.

Room was pretty spacious by Japanese standards. I enjoyed that they offered three private onsens that you could use at no additional cost with no reservation required. Free ice cream is available after your bath. There are hotels closer to JR Takayama Station but it’s still a reasonable walking distance.

1 The location is excellent, alpine JR comes out and turns right and goes straight, until it is at the traffic lights at the end, about 5-8 minutes walk. And alpine cherry blossoms are neighbors. 2 The room is large in size and the facilities are a bit old, but clean and tidy. Air conditioning and humidifiers are equipped with hot water bottles. The air conditioner was opened before entering the room and the hot water was boiled, which is also very intimate. 3 The top floor can be soaked, we stayed for 2 nights and soaked twice, no one. You need to take a bath before taking a bath. There are many brands of shower gel, shampoo, facial milk can be selected, and it is very comfortable to take a bath there. 4 Breakfast with Japanese and Western options, we chose Japanese, very simple, but also quite delicious. Overall price/performance ratio is still quite high

Our stay at Oyado Hachibee was wonderful! The rooms are peaceful, the staff is welcoming, and the meals are delicious. We enjoyed the baths immensely. If you're nervous about traditional Japanese food, don't be, it was very tasty and there are many things to try. We appreciated the coin-op laundry. The hotel is a 30 minute walk (partly uphill) from town, which is doable, but there's also a bus that runs twice per hour. We took the hotel shuttle back to the train station. While you're in Takayama, check out old town and the shrine walk. Excellent hospitality! Highly recommended.

The free transfer bus is operated at intervals of 30 minutes ～ 1 hours from the west exit of JR Takayama station, and guests can use it without reservation. There was a front desk, lobby, restaurant and open-air bath on the first floor, and the restaurant had dinner business, but this time I was allowed to use breakfast only. Although it was originally a reservation in a single room, it was good to have an upgrade to a twin room on the fourth floor at check-in, and the room was large 々 and I could sleep comfortably. It was good to be away from the urban area of HIDA Takayama and to taste the resort feeling at a reasonable price, but there were no restaurants and convenience stores around, and if you don't have a car, you will be around Takayama station in advance You need to finish the meal or buy it at takeout.

Just returned from a 12 day tour Treasures of Japan with Mercury Holidays, we stayed at this hotel for two nights, excellent hotel very clean and comfortable with everything you needed for your stay, you can enjoy the hot spring baths the ladies and gentlemen go separately as no clothing is worn, breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel runs a shuttle service into Takayama you are given a time table on arrival, a supermarket is just over the road from the hotel, we enjoyed full days sightseeing around Takayama with our guide Inage, enjoyed our stay would definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked here for 2 nights, since we are here, we have to feel the comfort of this place. Breakfast and dinner are great, but their taste is a bit salty and acceptable. The hot springs are very chic, well-equipped and clean, and the hot springs for men and women will be swapped for both men and women. This room can be booked for two people. The next day we changed the room and thought it would be bigger, but it was actually two rooms, so it was unnecessary. And the scenery by the river is the same. Furukawa Town is not big, so there are not many choices of hotels. This one has a long history. Hygiene didn't give high marks because there was lint and dust on the countertops, and there was dust on the cosmetics in the room. This is what I care about.

Already the third time to stay. I think this is a niche hotel, suitable for travelers who are willing or want to stay in the mountains in the middle of nowhere and are not looking for the services or facilities provided by the hotel. There really aren't any other buildings/facilities nearby (within walking distance) (unless you plan on hiking or walking up/down the mountain for 20 minutes). If you don’t drive by yourself, there are only buses that run every hour. It does not have gorgeous/elegant decoration, nor advanced/luxury facilities; but if you like historical hotels and/or unique accommodation experiences, you may want to take a hard look at the map and consider whether you are interested in giving it a try .
