Hotels near Ban Nam Khem Monastery, Takua Pa

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!

Review of Hotel Stay at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak and overall, it was a delightful experience. Here are the pros and cons of my stay: Pros: 1) Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is located in a prime spot, just a short distance away from the main tourist area. This allows for a peaceful and tranquil stay while still being conveniently close to all the attractions. 2) The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique establishment, with a charming ambiance. From the moment you step into the entrance lobby, you are greeted with antique decorations that add a touch of elegance to the surroundings. 3) One of the highlights of this hotel is the Michelin 2022 and 2023 chef who prepares authentic Nonya cuisines. This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. 4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors. 5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note. 6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings. 7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and are always ready to assist with any queries or requests. Cons: 1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests. 2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms. Rating: 8.5/10 In conclusion, Hotel Gahn Khao Lak offers a memorable stay with its good location, beautiful ambiance, authentic cuisine, and friendly staff. While there are a few areas that could be improved upon, the overall experience is highly enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and charming getaway in Khao Lak.

This is our 3rd time stay at La Flora, This time we stayed here for 3 nights from 17-20 May 2023, Everything excellence as always, the room was spacious and comfortable with high quality cleaning. The breakfast here was so good with many choices and also testy, the staff very attentive and provided excellent service especially ladies who clear up our table. Special thank to front team and appreciated with very kind for upgrading our room, and surprise birthday cake with beautiful bed decoration which made our stay very very special. Over all very impressive, Look forward to staying for the 4th and next, next, next time!!!

Disappointed by this large and impersonal hotel. The room allocated to us was dark and overlooked a wall with a huge antenna nearby. It took 10 minutes of discussion to get a room with a better view. The staff did not take into account the comments and wishes . In addition, lunch at the restaurant was mediocre (pasty shrimp) and expensive for what we had. The cocktails were average. Only the breakfast deserves a good mention. I will not recommend this hotel despite flattering articles and the price of which is excessive compared to what one has the right to expect.

I went to Similan for one night, but I regretted that I didn’t stay a few more nights. The receptionist Aidy was very friendly, and there were free self-service coffee and Thai milk machines nearby. Each of the twin beds was large, there were a lot of swimming pools, and there was a private beach with very few people. , the big slide should not be too silky, I have only slid it dozens of times, I didn’t see a single Chinese in the whole hotel, dinner was also served in the hotel, 🍕It was quite delicious, I played for a while after eating🏓️, I think the shortcoming is the bed The bottom is like a roller, which is a bit wobbly and a bit movable ~ The location of the hotel is a bit inconvenient without a car, but the hotel as a whole can be described in one word: *.

Excellent quiet and cozy hotel. Stayed for 2 weeks. The main guests are European pensioners. Rooms with access to the pool. The rooms are large, there are no smart TVs - regular TVs. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast with a lot of choice, but every day the same. The hotel's restaurant hosts weekly barbecues and other events for guests. The hotel itself is not on the first line, you need to walk 200 meters to the beach, but you need to drive to a good beach. But this is not a problem of the hotel, but of the place. Every day we drove 15 minutes to White sand beach.

The hotel is old and needs renovation. However I somehow forgot because the staff was wonderful. They tried their very best to accommodate for requests and was helpful regardless what we asked. The first night was a bit rough as the rooms smelled mouldy. I requested for a clean of the air-conditioner in both rooms and it helped a lot. Should this have been done prior to our arrival? Absolutely! But at least they are responsive and try their very best to give you a great holiday.

Ocean Leaf Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room, clean pool and good breakfast. 2 mins walk from a lovely clean Sandy beach. We stayed here for four nights to unwind before our backpacking adventure across Thailand. Do not try and eat within two hundred meters of the hotel if you want a nice and affordable meal, walk up to the main drag. Go Pong is a good choice, but there are lots of others. And the beach is not small, and there are plenty of sun loungers on the private beach and there are not many children to play, so the children can't play on the beach; 2, the hotel's three swimming pools are directly below the three three-story small rooms, children Noisy in the pool will greatly affect the rest of the guests; 3, the hotel's ecological environment is very good, even a lizard nearly one meter long, although the lizard is slow and does not actively attack people, but if the child actively provokes, it will definitely Caused unnecessary trouble; 4, the hotel did not provide any children's rides.

The hotel staff speaks english and is very helpful. The villas are old and dated, internet access works only from the common area and you have plenty of stairs to climb. What this place has going for it is the location. It’s settled on a hillside and each little villa is overlooking the ocean combined with a tropical vegetation setting a beautiful accent. Unless you want to spend a fortune, there is no other place beating these views. I will come back.
