The facilities are old and dirty, booked this cheap hotel as transit stay for scuba dive in similan, and I didnot book any activities from hotel. then the CREEPY owner sniffed around in your room door and blackmailed extra money 2000thb for smoking, with full mouth of dirty F*** words and detained my luggage for money when I checked out. Called the local police and went to the Khao lak police station for filing in mid-night with 3hrs. my first experience in such situation for traveling Thailand in almost 20 yrs. Anyway the Thai police are very polite and drove me back. After that I stayed in kokotel (900thb/nite) and seaview resort(3000thb/nite) in the beach front and way better than this small hostel. For the safe trip for single trvaller and be careful not booking this horrified and scammed hotel!

A room that did the job for a 1 night stay. Friendly staff and quite a bit cheaper than most of the other options in the area.

I am very satisfied. It is run by a very kind family. They can help you customize a tour and book a taxi for you. There are 7-11, shops and restaurants nearby. Just remember to bring toiletries when you go.

Because I wanted to visit Similan Island the next day, I read the guide and found that Khao Lak Beach was very close to the pier, so I stayed here after getting off the plane the first night. It was very convenient to go there the next morning because I just wanted to sleep. It's late, so the cost-effectiveness of staying here is simply too high.

This is a convenient and affordable hotel in the heart of Khao Lak. Easy walk (5 min) to the beach or to many restaurants. The staff was very helpful in arranging tours and transport. Spacious room and bath. Off-street location. Only "complaint" is that the cleaning folks kept wanting to give us bottled water - and we like to travel plastic-free, filling our own containers.

Beautiful and spacious rooms, clean, with a nice view of the north and east (can't see the sea). Extremely friendly staff who work hard, and very competitive rates in the area. It is close to 7-eleven, McDonalds, restaurants, and several dive shops and bus stops. Great location! Rakkawan Residence is one of the tallest buildings in Khao Lak.

Location in town, close to everything, but not very noisy because it is set back. Very spacious room and very decent bedding. Decent breakfast. Top staff: very friendly and helpful. Organize taxi and transfer at a very reasonable price. Nearby, small bar on the sidewalk: I recommend top cocktails!!
