The only good thing I can say about this place is that the location is a two minute drive to one of the gates to the Masai Mara Reserve . I have stayed at several places in the Mara and I would’ve rather driven an extra two hours to stay at a better accommodation and to be hosted by a professional and capable owner and manager. When we arrived for our overnight stay , it was obvious that the “luxury “ tents we were given were in the stages of being built / renovated . Compared to other tents on the property it looked unfinished and had many hazards: 1. Unfinished , uneven flooring and deck ramps- floor had openings allowing anything to possibly crawl in the room 2. Crooked door which did not lock 3 Exposed light switches 4. Leaking Toilet 5. Uncovered / bare floors / railings ( my sister in law got two splinters in her hand ) 6. Minimal Furniture ( compared to the other tents ) When I brought my concerns to Anne , who has no business being a manager ( did not even smile when she was introduced upon our arrival - very unprofessional ) , she proceeded to confirm that the rooms were in the process of being built and that we were the second people to stay there , and walked away . I asked to speak to the Owner , Tony , to discuss some type of compensation or perhaps seeing if we could be put in another room . He was absolutely rude , dismissive, unapologetic. and did not care that we were uncomfortable and had safety concerns about the accommodations. I was shocked at the way we were treated by both and Anne- and they have no clue what it means to be a professional and customer service oriented . Needless to say , I did not sleep very well due to the room being very cold due to the draft coming through the uneven floor planks - thank goodness it was for one night only , We would not have stayed another night . The only people who exhibited decency and professionalism were Rooney , Simon ( the Askari) , the chef , and the housekeeping staff . They made up for the incompetence of Tony and Anne who were probably the rudest hotel owner and manager I have encountered in Kenya. Never again !
