Warm staff members, customizing the service based on your needs for food, luxurious tents, well kept, comfy beds, hygenic, insect free, located on Talek river providing beautiful sunset sunrise views from the patio. Masai warriors round the clock around the tents for safety of the guests from wildlife. It was a pleasure to spot Big Elephants, Leopard on the other side of the river. Food was awesome for breakfast. lunch and dinner and I got my daily dose of ginger tea...before and after safari. Excellent tour guide/drivers taking you to places to find rare animals as well....you wont go home without spotting all big 5 and many more. Highly recommended for your Masai Mara trip or first adventure in Africe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Mara Duma in a triple tent. The tent was right on the Talek River and we slept to the sounds of hippos grunting and frogs. The staff were exceptional - warm, friendly, kind and helpful - and went out of their way to make our stay amazing. Food was tasty and home cooked and they catered for my gluten allergy brilliantly - i didnt get contaminated. The only negative is that because the hotel is right next to the Talek gate to the Masai Mara and a very rutted road, the road started being noisy at about 4.30am with lorries bouncing over the potholes...though we were up at 5.30am or game drives anyway so it didnt matter. Would definitely stay here again. Be aware that the fastest road from Nairobi to thehotel goes via the Park - gates close at 7pm to enter the Park.

This is a great lodge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable but bathrooms a little basic. Food excellent, full of flavour and nice variety. The lodge provided us with an excellent breakfast and lunch to take on our travels within the park. This even included hot food. Would recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Masai Mara NP.

The only good thing I can say about this place is that the location is a two minute drive to one of the gates to the Masai Mara Reserve . I have stayed at several places in the Mara and I would’ve rather driven an extra two hours to stay at a better accommodation and to be hosted by a professional and capable owner and manager. When we arrived for our overnight stay , it was obvious that the “luxury “ tents we were given were in the stages of being built / renovated . Compared to other tents on the property it looked unfinished and had many hazards: 1. Unfinished , uneven flooring and deck ramps- floor had openings allowing anything to possibly crawl in the room 2. Crooked door which did not lock 3 Exposed light switches 4. Leaking Toilet 5. Uncovered / bare floors / railings ( my sister in law got two splinters in her hand ) 6. Minimal Furniture ( compared to the other tents ) When I brought my concerns to Anne , who has no business being a manager ( did not even smile when she was introduced upon our arrival - very unprofessional ) , she proceeded to confirm that the rooms were in the process of being built and that we were the second people to stay there , and walked away . I asked to speak to the Owner , Tony , to discuss some type of compensation or perhaps seeing if we could be put in another room . He was absolutely rude , dismissive, unapologetic. and did not care that we were uncomfortable and had safety concerns about the accommodations. I was shocked at the way we were treated by both and Anne- and they have no clue what it means to be a professional and customer service oriented . Needless to say , I did not sleep very well due to the room being very cold due to the draft coming through the uneven floor planks - thank goodness it was for one night only , We would not have stayed another night . The only people who exhibited decency and professionalism were Rooney , Simon ( the Askari) , the chef , and the housekeeping staff . They made up for the incompetence of Tony and Anne who were probably the rudest hotel owner and manager I have encountered in Kenya. Never again !

What a fantastic experience with Mara Duma. I was here with my husband for 5 nights and the staff made everything so so special. 10/10 for service. We barely spent any time at the hotel - We left at 5 am for full day game drives and were back only at nights. Breakfast and lunch was packed on time for every meal. They asked for our feedback on meals and made changes. I even had a great time going into the kitchen one evening to cook dinner with the chef. The rooms were clean and we even got a hot water bag to sleep with every night. The only draw back was the water pressure was very low. Our stay was excellent because of the staff. Thanks to Tony, Lavender, Anna and Mike who made this a very memorable experience for all of us. Their warm hospitality is something i will remember for life.

Nice tented camp, the tents are new and covered on a platform. You look right onto the Talek River. At night zebra, hippos other wildlife come to drink. You are next to the park gate, it is a busy gate complete with the busy balloon guys. But you are right in the park no long drive, you just start your Safari right after your breakfast.
