Habitacions Sant Pere Claver

Booked this last minute on 16 December. Accepted the booking. We arrived at 22:45. Was difficult to find and raise the owner to let us in. Took us to our room, room 3 on second floor. Up 40 steps (yes, I counted) and no lift so defo not suitable for people with accessibility issues or heart problems. Was taken to room where owner asked for €60, when it should have been €55. Extra was late checking in charge even though it’s advertised as 24/7 checkin. Then discovered that the fee is charged after 23:00 and we were before this time!! Also, wouldn’t take card payment, cash only!! Just as well we had some or we would have been out looking for an atm!! The bathroom was so bitterly cold in the morning I couldn’t bear to face having a shower!! My partner was the same! We are clean freaks so this was a challenge!! Then we had an email from *********** stating that the owner had said we never arrived, I guess so he didn’t have to pay *********** their commission!! We told them we did stay there. The place was very clean but that’s about the only thing I can muster up as a positive. Bathroom is shared with all the rooms which it does not tell you. Worst of all was the whole place and especially the room was absolutely freezing cold! Owner gave us an electric heater which was not fit for purpose. The bedding was so cold it felt damp. Also, it smelt really strongly of a man’s aftershave and cigarette smoke!! So not even sure that the bedding was fresh clean. My hair smelt of stale cigarette smoke! I put an extra blanket, doubled over, on top of the duvet and was still cold! That was as well as wearing velour PJ’s! All-in-all a disaster of a stay and clearly the owner is a bit of a con merchant!!
