The location of the hotel is very good and convenient to get around, but it looks a bit old in many places.

The location is not bad, breakfast is a bit lacking compared to the size, and there are some aging issues.

The hotel is very cost-effective and is very suitable for business trips. There is an automatic currency exchange machine downstairs. There are many restaurants in the surrounding area, the transportation is convenient and fast, easy to locate, and it is convenient to book an online car-hailing service.

I wanted to sit on the sofa, to the left of the entrance. A security guard came up and said that you couldn’t sit down, this place was only for the Director. At the reception they confirmed that no one except the director can sit there. And all the staff knows this. This is a clear example of disgusting discrimination against visitors. I told this manager so and advised him to put up a sign saying “Reserved” so that people would know where they can sit and where they can’t. And this Director, who established such a rule... .. what can I say. And so everything is clear. Below is a photo of this sofa, for a “first-class citizen”. Keep in mind - this is not for us. This is for the Director.

There was a fire on my floor. No one alerted me. If I did not wake up from all of the coughing, I probably would have died from smoke halation. There were no alarms. I had to go down seven flights of stairs. They did absolutely nothing to try to compensate me for the experience. I did not receive any apologies. I would not stay here again.

Upon arrival the hotel told us that they stopped working together with ********* years ago. Our booking and payment wouldn't be worth anything. We could stay, but would have to pay again! Only after endless discussions with the reception manager he agreed when we checked out to look after the issue himself. We got away without any double payment, but what an experience and waste of time!

Former Soviet hotel. Frugal breakfast. Comfortable room. The hotel is a little far from the tourist sites. English is not always understood and even less French which can be problematic.

We cannot think of European standards. But considering the average in Uzbekistan the rooms were clean and spacious, the infrastructure worked (electricity and water, both cold and hot) and the breakfast was the best in terms of variety. Then the bathrooms would have deserved to be renewed (the paint was peeling) and we would have preferred a double bed to the two French singles.

The fact that the hotel is falling apart is a disaster. WiFi is not working in one room, hot water in the other. On the carpet, someone died and rotted. The elevator is full of vomit and everyone cares. But the perfect game is that taxis are not allowed on the site, because. ostensibly fresh paint, but some expensive cars drive in and stand all night.

The hotel was recommended to us by the Samarkand agency that organized our tour, the choice linked to the location near the station and the airport. It is an old hotel, on paper even a 5 star (according to Uzbekistan standards). As soon as you enter you will find half of the hall under renovation with workers and scaffolding working... Our rooms were located, the first on the sixth floor, quite decent, the second on the third floor, under renovation. One wonders why in such a large hotel they allocate rooms that have been completely renovated both internally and in the corridors (see the signs hanging on the doors!). We only stayed one night for a few hours and, also due to tiredness, we didn't ask for changes... but in another situation we would have called the agency and requested a change of hotel. That said: sad, old, moderately dirty rooms (look at the photo of the sofa...) and very noisy; the room on the sixth floor overlooked the square in front of the hotel, which is very busy day and night (and the soundproofing of the room was decidedly poor); the room on the third floor faced inwards, a sort of construction site and storage area for work materials. Very noisy and unusable air conditioning. Bathrooms old and definitely in need of renovation. The breakfast was a little better, and that's the only reason why I gave it two points. My advice: look for different accommodation.
