Although it is only a hostel, the configuration of the executive room is comparable to that of a high-end hotel. The room is very large and has a balcony. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, but it is not far from the center of Taupo. Restaurants, supermarkets, and gas stations are all around, and the price is very high. , The hostel has a lot of free parking spaces, basically no need to park on the side of the road, I will choose this place next time when I travel by car in Taupo

The ease of being able to check in and out without going to reception is a useful feature (we arrived in good time to see the helpful gentleman on reception to check in). We did not use the full facilities of the lounge and kitchen. The room and bathroom were clean. The room was nicely a presented, comfortable bed and functional for what we needed during our stay in Taupo. We ate at Thai delight, a short walk away and had a lovely meal that came promptly and with good service.

This is an older property with large rooms, well maintained and very close to town. Stayed overnight on way back to Auckland. Huge room, was originally a timeshare motel now solely motel. Very helpful receptionists. The key to this motel is it's proximity to the town and eateries etc. ie 3 minute walk to town and also across the road from the lake which is nice for a morning walk. Some motels in Taupo are far from town and you need a car. This is not the case with this one. Got a decent rate on Booking. Would stay here again based on the size of the room and it's central location. Enjoyed a nice dip in the Wairakei Terraces hotpools (age 14 years and over), got a decent discount voucher for entry on the grabone site.

Been meaning to stay for years as rest of family have many times. Loved it, BUT....... security needs updating. Maybe they are doing that as toilet security door was missing and so was front access barrier! Had some very suspect people using toilet and shower facilities this morning. Definitely didn't look like guest and didn't have caravan or tent. By the look of the face tattoos looked like and behaved like gang members. Without security gates or doors they will just come in. Also some people had a lot of food- meat stolen from fridge. Sad. :( ALL THAT SAID- it's still a lovely camp. Facilities are clean, and good location next to hot pools and good sites with reasonable privacy on most sites. Would stay again.

Beautiful rooms overlooking the lake. Plenty of space and large balcony to sit and enjoy the view. Location was excellent just far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to walk in along a walkway. Staff were extremely friendly. Room was clean with lovely quality bedding Dinner in the on site restaurant was really good and with a great view of the lake. Breakfast was fairly basic but sufficient and of a good quality. We would definitely stay again when in this area highly recommended

As a Hilton Honors member, my stay at the hotel met the usual satisfactory quality. Peter at the front desk was excellent in accommodating our needs, and overall, we had a good time. However, I want to caution future guests to adjust their expectations:
• The location, while quiet, is farther from the center and lakeside, requiring a car and likely keeping you at the hotel in the evening.
• Our room, possibly the least expensive, was extremely small with limited space for sitting or even opening our suitcases.
• Staff training or updated information is necessary; the website mentioned a happy hour, but there was none on Friday. Conflicting details about breakfast and check-out times were provided.
• While amenities were nice, the steam room and sauna floor were dangerously slippery, leading to a hard fall and injury. Additionally, the pool water was not clean, with numerous hairs inside.
• Some equipment, like the coffee machine, was not working.

It’s rare to see a hotel of this size in New Zealand~ It’s a bit like an old five-star~ There is a small outdoor hot spring, but when we went there the temperature was about zero at night and the water temperature was not too hot. It takes courage to start the water~

LlittleanaThe resort is right on the beach, separated by a road. Although there is no sea view, the room is quite comfortable. The receptionist is full of energy. There is a heated swimming pool in the hotel. The room is relatively large. It is good to cook your own meals in the kitchen at night.

GGuest UserWe stayed here as one nighters both in late January and early February. There were 2 single beds in the room as well as a Queen. 2 bathrooms also, the handbasin's hot water was only a tickle from the tap in the upstairs bathroom in unit 3. There was a big spa bath which we did not use. There was both an outdoor sitting.lounging area downstairrs and very sunny balcony upstairs - great for a sundown drink. The February stay had us in a room with only one signle bed and a Queen bed, no updtairs, and a outdoor seating/lounging area, The rooms are clean, well equiped, comfortable and spacious enough. Plenty of bath towels provided also. The rooms reek of air freshner, which I hated but some establishments clearly like using it liberally and unnecessarily. A short walk down a back path on the premises will take you down to the lakeside walkway and beach area, we walked around to the lovely outdoor seating lakeside Millenium bar and had a drink, it was a nice quite spot. The decor is dated and the wallpaper is peeling in parts, a refurb should be on the cards soon. It is very popular so it must be appealing enough. Yes, I would recommend (if you only require a clean bed for the night. Reasonably priced also.

This place was fantastic for us. We are a big family with the need for an accessible room suitable for a wheelchair, as well as the space for two families with 2 young children each. It's a tricky requirement to fulfil and nearly impossible to get it just right, but The Village Resort managed to tick the boxes. It was a bonus to also have a great playground for the kids, a tennis court and a lovely swimming pool and spa. And all walkable into the centre of town. Unfortunately, the whole resort wasn't quite fully accessible, but the rooms had what we needed, and with the help of some strong members we managed to get us all into the pool. With decent and affordable accessible options hard to find, we will definitely be thinking of here if we return to Taupō again.

This motel was clean, quiet, comfortable and spacious. Very comfortable bed, nice and warm unit. Off road parking close to unit. Only a short distance from the town. Good value. Sky TV with several channels. Well soundproofed from units next door.

Hhh567This hotel is very quiet, not far from Lake Taupo. The entrance to the yard is a large lawn. There is a road but not the main road. The surrounding environment is very good. There is a big supermarket within 5 minutes of driving. You can buy some ingredients to cook your own food. There are kitchen pots and pans, a double bed and single bed, suitable for family outings! Parking stops at the door of the room where you live! I will stay here now, and the price is right!

AAnonymous UserThe location is excellent. I stayed in this hotel before the epidemic. I stayed in a three-bedroom apartment on the first floor that time. It was very good. This time we only booked a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor. The facilities and equipment are a bit old, but the bedding and towels are all new and high-quality. There are pots, bowls, induction cookers, etc., hot water in the spa bath and other facilities are very convenient. Downstairs There are washing machines and dryers available, please note that they are available from 8am to 8pm. There is also a BBQ for guests to use, and it is very convenient to check in and out. The cleaning staff are very friendly, but the front desk staff are not too enthusiastic. The overall experience is not bad. I will stay here again next time I come to Taupo. Ctrip has an advantage in price👍

We had Rm 303, 3rd floor. We loved the fabulous view of Lake Taupo. We liked the proximity to eateries. Beds were comfy, so were pillows and sheets. Staff we saw were frirndly too. But, this motel had its heyday in the 1980s and is in need of a full refurb. It shows. Lift was noisy (outside our room). Traffic noise noticeable, motel is on a very busy road so couldnt leave window open. To access the bedroom one had to go through the bathroom (toilet not separate). Or, if you were in the 2nd bedroom, you were trapped in there until the person finished in the bathroom. Light switch for bathroom in the kitchen. No air con/heat pump. Only portable fans or oil fin heaters. Everything tired, although clean. Shower pressure not strong and you have to step up into it, and step down to get out of it. Could be an issue for elderly or people with mobility issues. We thought there are newer motels that are better value in Taupo to stay at.

GGuest UserThere are some car hotels, right next to Lake Taupo, the scenery does not say, the car stops at the door of the room, very convenient, very suitable for self-driving travel. The rooms are compact but well-equipped, cooking and bathing are not a problem. It is very close to the supermarket and the place to eat, and there are two or three intersections by car. The New Zealand big sister at the front desk was very enthusiastic and stayed with milk.
