The hotel is very new, the facilities are very complete, the kitchen is laundry and dry, the bed is very comfortable. The front desk got off work very early, but Ctrip’s order had a problem, and the hotel staff had been helping to coordinate the stay and praised one. It is necessary to criticize the background efficiency of Ctrip, and the hotel will only receive confirmation after a few hours of ordering. The ease of being able to check in and out without going to reception is a useful feature (we arrived in good time to see the helpful gentleman on reception to check in). We did not use the full facilities of the lounge and kitchen. The room and bathroom were clean. The room was nicely a presented, comfortable bed and functional for what we needed during our stay in Taupo. We ate at Thai delight, a short walk away and had a lovely meal that came promptly and with good service.

We had a lovely 2 day stay in Taupo recently, The Gables was amazing. We where greeted with a warm smile and the owner recognized me immediately as I had emailed for our booking. We where taken to our room, heat pump turned on for us and where asked if we need anything. Our room was spacious, clean and very well appointed. We even had a small jar of home baking for us to enjoy. We will definently be staying there again.

The location is excellent. I stayed in this hotel before the epidemic. I stayed in a three-bedroom apartment on the first floor that time. It was very good. This time we only booked a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor. The facilities and equipment are a bit old, but the bedding and towels are all new and high-quality. There are pots, bowls, induction cookers, etc., hot water in the spa bath and other facilities are very convenient. Downstairs There are washing machines and dryers available, please note that they are available from 8am to 8pm. There is also a BBQ for guests to use, and it is very convenient to check in and out. The cleaning staff are very friendly, but the front desk staff are not too enthusiastic. The overall experience is not bad. I will stay here again next time I come to Taupo. We spent three nights at this very comfortable hotel in Taupo in early June. We were visiting our daughter who lives in the town but didn’t have enough room for us to stay. I was after a hotel with a view of the beautiful lake, but still within walking distance to town as we didn’t have a car. Suncourt Hotel fitted the brief perfectly. We booked a Premier Deluxe Lakeview Studio room. The room that we were allotted was on the top floor. There was no lift, so you needed to climb the outdoor steps with luggage. Our room was very large, with a king size bed, a desk, two comfortable chairs and a coffee table. The bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower and a free-standing bath. There was also a very large balcony with a stunning view of the lake and a further two chairs and a small table. The reception staff were very helpful not only with our original reservation, but also when we needed to add a night and with any questions that we had. The only downside to me was that their restaurant was not open on the evening that we checked in, which was Sunday, and also not for breakfast on the Monday morning. We did know this in advance though, and as the town was easily walkable it wasn’t a problem. We had two breakfasts in the restaurant, and they were excellent. As we had other dinner plans, we didn’t have dinner in the restaurant, but our daughter and her partner have eaten there and loved it. If you are looking for a very large hotel room with a view, then Suncourt is for you. I believe they have much larger apartment style rooms which would be more suitable for families, although we didn’t get to see any of these.

The landlady is very friendly. The room we booked also has a natural hot spring. However, we are traveling like special forces and have no time to enjoy it. The room is also quite cozy and suitable for families. Taupo is a good place to stay for one more day, and there are still some unplanned spots, which is really nice.
