Teddington Hotels with Free Breakfast

I used to work for Shell, and so visited what was then known as The Lensbury Club many times. We booked The Lensbury Resort in a fit of nostalgia. Not much has changed in the 30 years or so since I last visited. The rooms are comfortable and our Deluxe Double was quite spacious, with a large sofa, plenty of wardrobe space and a modern bathroom that included a nice bath as well as a large shower cubicle. On the downside, the main dining area is cavernous and little has been done to make it feel more inviting. The food is quite average and the chef has made some odd choices: for dinner, the Thai cauliflower & chickpea curry is more Indian than Thai and had little flavour. The lamp rump was tasty. The ”hot chocolate with whipped cream” came with no whipped cream and when we asked, we were told there was no whipped cream. Most bizarrely, from the lunch menu the BLT was seasoned with a mountain of thyme in the mayonnaise - a very odd combination and not one that works at all well. It's also annoying to be reminded more than once that ”service charge is not included.” The pool is OK but there were a lot of young children at the weekend so not particularly enjoyable for swimming lengths when you have to avoid kids bombing into the pool. The piece de resistance though was being woken up at about 4am when some new arrivals tried to get into our room. They tried more than once even though we answered the door and told them it was our room. They showed us their key and it had indeed been noted with the same room number as we were in. After that we were also visited by security who clearly thought we were lying about it being our room. We mentioned it at check-out and were told to complain in writing.

English breakfast can be accepted, clean, extra bed needs to communicate with the hotel

We stayed from 18-22 August worse decision we have ever made Room on 4th floor was front of building, the heat was unbearable in our room, fan did nothing to make us cooler, fan was dusty too, noise in 3 rooms facing our room was dreadful started at 11.30 - 1am constantly door banging, plus dust cart getting rid of Travelodge rubbish from 4am onwards under our window Husband sent the above complaint to Travelodge, they said they provided sheets if the room was hot (rubbish, we never were offered any) ignored the noisy residents, plus bin lorry noise Funny they had Aircon in reception area & restaurant but no where else in the 5 storey building Old building, needs updating, top car park dodgy we have a small car & to get it down the ramp was a tight squeeze Complaint was answered but they only mentioned about sheets & never our other complaints but if we go back again ”NEVER EVER” we could have Early Bookin free ”ARE THEY MAD” , we only stayed in this Tavelodge as it was central for our needs, what ”A MISTAKE THAT WAS” we eventually got a peaceful night's sleep, plus a cool bedroom to sleep in when we got home after 216 miles driving. Travelodge need to get real like Premier Inn's & update there building plus put in Air Con & quite doors in all their rooms
