Premier Inn Colchester (A12)

Well placed for Park and Ride into Colchester. Very comfortable Hotel to stay in with adjacent restaurant with a good choice of menus for breakfast and dinner. No need to waste time looking for somewhere to dine. The breakfast/ dinner meal deal was good value.

I anticipated noise as it is on/near a major road, pleasantly surprised there was none. The room was large and on the ground floor (although not requested). Although there was a room temperature unit on the wall this I presume is for when the hotel has air con but there is a heater and a fan. The bed was very comfy and the spare pillows provided were in a sealed bag thus giving the impression of being clean, The staff were very welcoming. We stay at travel lodges as you know what to expect and this one exceeded exceptions. Although we only stopped here for 1 night as we were travelling from Kent to North Norfolk I would imagine that you could stay here longer as it is right on the main trunk road, lots to see in Colchester, not too far from Suffolk or Norfolk and the seaside rort of Clacton.

We booked 5 nights at the a12 premier inn, on the first night there was no room in the car park for the hotel and was advised to park in the overflow in the pub car park (also linked to the hotel) the next morning my car had been badly hit (no note by the person who hit it) went to reception to ask for the CCTV footage to be told the camera are dummy camera as a Deterrent! I have no way of finding out who hit my car and will not be going back to the hotel! Very disappointed! And now I have to get myself a new bumper and wing myself! Very unhelpful staff when trying to deal with this!

The stay was wonderful. Very accommodating staff. Lovely clean room, just all round a great place to stay!

An overnight stay and it wasn’t the original location we were looking for but Clean tidy room, Staff were excellent, good facilities ..very content

We had a good stay on Saturday night as we were attending 80s Calling in Colchester Castle Park🎤🎸🍻✌️ A lovely comfy room and super breakfast the next morning. The only downside was having to pay an extra charge just to knave our bags in our room. We didn't even return to half past midnight. I do feel a bit 'money-grabbing' of Premier Inn as a company policy😬

Friendly staff, comfortable room with a bath (always an advantage). We stayed two nights, one before going to the Netherlands, one on the way back. On the first visit we had an evening meal. The steak was a bit tough but it is best not to order steak under at least £20. I had the mixed grill which only had four meats including sausages (so three really), which isn't a mixed grill in the sense I know it, but it is cost again. My piece of steak was good, but the best meat was the gammon. On our return we had the breakfast. The continental element t was generally good. The cooked element was not of a standard I like to see, eg it says premium sausage. I would never buy a sausage that low in quality. The bacon was certainly better than in the Netherlands, but then no one can do bacon like the British (I include the Irish in that - British Isles), but it wasn't good enough. I did see a sight though. A chap at a nearby table received his cooked breakfast, used his fingers to pile it all on to a slice of bread, stuck another slice on top and proceeded to eat it as a sandwich. Pretty disgusting, especially the fingers, but we were in Essex.

We have stayed here on numerous occasions and every time without fail the staff have engaged with my 2 year old. He always looks forward to staying in the "Moon Hotel". Special shout out to Sandie as she always finds something to entertain the children, whether it's a beach pack for a day at the beach or a zoo pack for a day at the zoo. She even found some colouring in pictures of owls for my son as that happened to be the animal of the month for him. Have always had a great night sleep whenever we have stayed here.

Pretty dissatisfied with this hotel it's a quiet hotel hardly anyone around yet they didn't get time to set up a 40th birthday request for our room
