Khaolak Merlin Resort Reviews

Our stay at Merlin Khao Lak was pretty great. We had a week there, and sincerely enjoyed the feeling of staying in a contained and nicely taken care of rain forest by the beach. The location was nearly perfect, but the beach itself wasn't very swimmable (beginning of rain season, to be fair). Fortunately, there were other beaches on the same coast that were nicer during the same time of year, so we did get time in the sea water. Even without sea swimming, the ambience from the waves and the sunsets made the beach plenty nice for us at Merlin. There is also a variety of nicepy kept pools to enjoy, though I typically don't enjoy pools personally. Service/food were both nice as well. The staff was pleasant enough, but it did feel weird that an ecologically minded resort had the least meat/dairy alternatives of any of the several resorts/hotels we stayed at. I found ordering curries with no seafood or meat simple though, and they were mostly still good. The massaman curry was a miss, but everything else I tried was quite good for resort food! We really loved the touch of the room's default tv channel being an info channel about the resort's wildlife and maintenance. That, plus the several info booklets allowed us to have a more guided and knowledgeable experience while sightseeing on the exceptional grounds. It was really fun running into others who were also just having a look around and waiting to see a different animal pop up. We enjoyed our stay. Next time we'd likely come back, while also spending some time up the coast a bit.

Awesome hotel. A cold towel was so cool when checking in~ The hotel is like a tropical rain forest. No shuttle bus is needed. It is very convenient to walk around with a corridor. The room is very large, the air conditioning is sufficient, and the hot water is also very large! ! The breakfast is great! I have eaten breakfast in many hotels, and this one can be ranked in the top three! The hotel has a swimming pool, a lawn and a beach. You can walk to Eden next to the beach. The Nana restaurant next to Eden is recommended. It is very cheap and delicious. The restaurant in the hotel itself is not expensive. You can try it~ In addition, there are many restaurants, massages and money exchanges at the left turn of the hotel entrance, and 711, which is very convenient! The waiters are all good, with a super good attitude, smiling and polite, and helped to upgrade the room. I was so lucky! If you must say the shortcomings, the room has a little musty smell, and the swimming pool feels a little dirty because it is not cleaned in time, especially the small swimming pool. I hope it can be improved!

The hotel is very much like an ecological park, but the rooms are very clean. There are no serious mosquito problems, only a few are slightly infested. There is a great beach next to it. Unfortunately, the swimming pool is limited and the pool bar is not that hygienic. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the price is reasonable. The room is also very beautiful and clean. However, the central light control is incomplete and can only control 80% of the lamps.

Booked the most expensive private pool villa. The picture shows the sea view, but when we got there, we were facing a whole wall! The pool was dirty! No toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, or conditioner. There were no towels in the public area. The service was very poor. They just cleaned the room casually and didn't replenish anything! We stayed for three days, but only had fruit on the first day! My pajamas on the bed were thrown away! They didn't fold the clothes at all! In the restaurant, we were still looking at the menu and ordering when they took away the menu! ! It's outrageous! It's not child-friendly either. There are no child-related products! The boy who carried the luggage was the friendliest person in the whole hotel!

The room is very big and spacious, the bathroom is also very large, the breakfast is delicious, and the experience is great ~ I have stayed here and in the Eden next door, and I feel that this hotel is more cost-effective ~ some

How dare you charge so much for a night that is so old? To go to the room from the front desk, you have to go around and climb up to the fourth floor (there is no elevator) and the guide signs are not good. So every time I come back from outside, I have to look for a room for a long time. The swimming pools are a bit dirty.

Few people, great scenery, great value for money! The hotel is clean and hygienic, and every room has a bathtub. This hotel focuses on a rainforest jungle-style immersive experience. You can see large and small lizards, various birds, sloths, and nocturnal animals every week. I slept very well because the greenery was great and the negative oxygen ions were very high. The breakfast is rich in variety and the hotel staff is very nice. The location of the hotel is also very good, with a wide variety of restaurants, bars, massage parlors, and supermarkets nearby, which is enough! I sincerely recommend it, I’m not a bastard!

In order to make it convenient for Similan to go out to the sea, I booked this hotel. The hotel environment is very good and the surroundings are very quiet. You can walk to the beach and a small bustling area. This is an unexpected surprise. In short, it is very suitable for a quiet vacation~

The hotel environment is great, it feels like living in a tropical rainforest, with all kinds of cute animals, the room is equipped with English introductions of animals and plants, suitable for children. In addition, the breakfast in the hotel is very good, with rich fruits and delicious fried noodles, which is very suitable for the appetite of Chinese people.

A hotel in the middle of nature. Colorful birds and monitor lizards. Incredibly good breakfast with lots of variety. Beach clean and pools never crowded.

The facilities are a bit outdated and there are more mosquitoes. Others are okay.

It feels much more cost-effective than Eden

September holiday, Travelling as a couple, deluxe room overlooking pool and beach.room spacious and kept immaculate ,housekeeping did a great job. All staff friendly and welcoming. Spa staff amazing had four treatment s over the 2wks Puy and Kiki did a great job. We used the buffet for breakfast and the a la carte at the beach lunch and dinner, food was excellent and if not included in your plan very reasonable. Staff at both restaurants were fabulous. The grounds were well maintained and it was great to see the wildlife. The poor weather and storms kept the loris in hiding but the monitor lizards didn't mind at all . The only problem we experienced was the lack of evening entertainment. Music was played at beach bar but stopped around 8pm .Background music wouldn't go amiss at the main pool where swim up bar is. The lobby bar has an old guy singing the same songs every single night and it becomes monotonous.!! People tend to pop in for a drink and move on, we never saw this bar full, and majority around the pool all voiced same opinion. There is an area behind the pool table leading up to the beach bar where a band could play without disturbing anyone in the rooms and guests could dance to livelier music. Hairdryer had very little power so bring own or tie hair up,the humidity plays havoc with your hair. Room had bug machine, kettle, mini bar, tea,coffee, two bottles of water daily. No iron so bring your own. Shampoo, shower gel and lotion are provided and decent quality. We will return. Thankyou Merlin resort.

Husband and I wanted to pick out somewhere for our 5th wedding anniversary/delayed honeymoon, and did a lot of research before deciding on this resort. It's the perfect place to relax and just let go of your normal life. We were all inclusive, and took advantage of the cocktail menu that was available, along with eating in both the a la carte restaurant and the buffet restaurant. Both were great, but the buffet got a it boring over two weeks! Lots of options available though, breakfasts are amazing, and the staff were outstanding. Luckily there are shops and restaurants within walking distance that do excellent food as well as finding snacks and drinks as well. The room we had was the deluxe pool access room, it was a little musty on arrival, but with the AC on that soon dissipated. There is a kettle, mosquito repellent plug in, hair dryer, TV with Netflix etc and high speed Wi-Fi. We had the mini bar stocked daily with water, soda water, coke and sprite, and the cleaning team were fantastic. We booked the romantic dinner on the beach for our anniversary, and were taken care of like VIPs! Shout out to Manny who took amazing care of us, and took tons of pictures and videos as well! The beach is beautiful and relatively quiet, there are loads of sunbeds out in the gardens, and the jungle feel of the resort is just wonderful in comparison to the concrete monstrosities near by. The staff were all top notch, and super helpful, there are tours and taxis available at the reception, or you can walk down the road and jump into a tuk tuk, it's about 10 minutes to the centre of Khao Lak. Honestly, the most relaxing and wonderful holiday I've had in a long time, an outstanding resort and amazing people. I can't wait to get back.
