Had no Bathroom in Bungalow, but it’s like village style and unforgettable experience to living in Spring River. I like this place. Eco life.

Vicky, who owns and manages the hotel is extremely proficient. She solved all of our transportation problems with compassion and arranged our excursions. The location is simply beautiful and the boat ride up to the Kung Lor Cvd is like no other in the world.

This is a recommended place to stay when you visit Konglor cave in Thakhek, the staff is nice the room is comfortable the Manager offering us a super nice service, and the most important is they have a really breathtaking and amazing river and Mountain View from my room. Sure will stay back again if I revisit this place.

The views here are gorgeous, the food is delicious. Yes, it's a little expensive for the area, but you won't regret it.

My favourite place in 10 days Laos. We stayed in the lovely bungalows overlooking the river (there are also cheaper options further back with joint bathroom) Owners and staff are very friendly. Food and drinks are varied and good. Not cheap, but they do have to go for quite some trouble to get it there. Three nights was pefect: 1 day Kong Lor Cave (do not drive there but enjoy a taxiboat), 1 day self guided cave walk and kayaking. You get a taste of adventure mixed with an understated luxury feeling. Not easy to get to: we heard other travellers took 12 hours public transport from Vientiane. We did private transfer, 7 hours 200US i think (check hotel website) which was fine for 4 people. All very much worth it. (I only wished the dining set up/ligthing was cozier. And that is a tiny complaint to have)

Resort well located in a rather pretty, wooded and mountainous setting. April is the dry season and the river was muddy and did not smell very good. The crystal blue lagoon may exist in the rainy season, but you shouldn't expect it in the dry season. We rented a kayak, for very little time, given the state and level of the river. Rental is expensive, given the limited use possible in the dry season. The room was OK, not very big, clean and well equipped, with a terrace overlooking the river, but prohibitively expensive. $80, without even breakfast, is far too high a price for what is offered. The bungalows in the garden, much more basic, are also offered at a not very cheap rate. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is OK, not very cheap, but the value for money is quite acceptable, given the location.

We stayed two nights during our recent trip to Laos, the resort is in a quiet area surrounded by natural beauty overlooking the jungle and Hinboun river. It felt peaceful and tranquil from the moment we set foot on the property. Sitting in the lounge overlooking the river and having a drink was so peaceful and serene. The resort is not far from the Kang Lot Caves, and the 6 hour trip from Vientiane was worth it from them and this Resort. We stayed in a riverside bungalow with private bathroom. The room was simple but clean and very comfortable, it was beautiful to sit on the balcony and just listen to the bird chirping away. The owners and staff were very friendly and more than happy to assist in anything you needed. We ate at the resort and the food was excellent considering we are vegetarians they had a good selection or would make a dish we liked into a vegetarian dish. If we ever make a trip to Laos and towards Kang lor Caves we would stay at this resort without a doubt.

Paradise location overlooking clean & clear river. Sipping cocktails while watching the sunset was exquisite. We loved the friendly and efficient staff. The bungalow we stayed in for 2 nights had a restful balcony facing the river. It had good air con and we were thankful for the insect spray provided in each room. There were lots of small flying insects in the restaurant which were a bit annoying, but this didn't detract too much from our nice dinner. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, you could choose from 7 different “breakfast sets”. We used their 12hr Laundry Service which was very convenient. We also used their kayaks to venture to a peaceful area of the river. If you plan to go to Kong Lor caves from the hotel, use the taxi boat to get to the caves (rather than by car). The manager, Thomas, is very helpful and will provide all the necessary information.

Beautiful place, worth the trip. We stayed 2 nights, but three would have been ideal. The resort is located on the banks of the river, the view from the rooms and the restaurant is enchanting: water buffaloes, wild ducks, the villagers fishing, unforgettable. The river view rooms are beautiful, entirely made of wood, sufficiently spacious, with a bathroom and a small balcony where you can relax overlooking the lagoon. The owner, an affable Swiss man with his Laotian wife, will organize the tours you wish to take. The restaurant is excellent. The approximately 40 minute boat ride to Kong Lor cave is worth the trip. It wouldn't have been as nice to reach the cave by land from Thakek. I thank the owner and his wife again, and all the staff, for their affectionate welcome, and for the passion they put into preserving the place as it is, uncontaminated. Passion that emerges in every detail of the structure, truly well maintained and with attention to the smallest details. In the room you will find everything you need. Kayaks are also available free of charge to explore the adjacent stretch of lagoon. I really recommend it because it is one of the most beautiful places visited in Laos.

2 years later, Denis R's entire description remains relevant. very nice location on the banks of the river. Welcoming bungalows, but made a little small by this third bed which does not allow you to go around the double bed. Bedding a little "hard". Small bathroom. Slightly aging set which could benefit from some maintenance work. Restaurant on a beautiful terrace with a view of the river and nature. Good food. Friendly and efficient service. Prices a little high, but understandable given the isolation of the site
