Best Hotels near Gattiker Waldweiher, Thalwil

Where can I start? Firstly the hotel advertises that there is parking available, please we aware that unless you’re going to leave your car in a space up the road (not designated for the accommodation), then there is NOT parking available in the sense you’d expect it to be. Any space that appears to be on site has signs about not leaving the car with threats of towing your car. We ended up parking in the city centre for 40CHF a night. We did expect cheap and cheerful but this was not cheerful. When we went in, the apartment didn’t appear very clean, and on opening the fridge door there was leftover food in there (including fish, which my partner has an anaphylactic allergy too, although that part isn’t their fault, it just added insult). The kitchen cleaning sponge and towels were dirty. The hairdryer was broken and dangerous to use. The shower screen was broken. The toilet brush had hair left on it. The curtains were stained. There were more issues but if I mentioned them I’d just be sounding petty. Finally, the king size bed only had a single sheet. We sent an email and in all fairness they did remove the leftover food, replace the towel, bin the dirty sponge, “fix” the shower screen (it was a bodge job and will break again soon im sure), and replace the shower head (something we’d not complained about?!) When looking for somewhere to stay in Zurich we narrowed our search down by looking for somewhere with parking. We thought the cheaper price would be as it was out of the city centre, and relatively basic, not dirty. I would recommend you avoid this, or only book if you have very low expectations.

Beautiful lake front hotel and friendly staff. Lovely view from the balconies. Rooms are clean, well-appointed and spacious. Parking is very convenience. Highly recommended, will be back for sure .

The price is very big, the design of the bare wall, the restaurant and bar downstairs, there are a lot of people at night

We spent two nights. We went there with our 5-year-old and they provided a Crib with a Teddy bear. This was a very nice Detail! THANK YOU! It's a very cool and modern-looking hotel with a magnificent lake view. The restaurant is very nice and the Room service was excellent! a Very nice hotel with incredibly professional and friendly staff. Close enough to the City but not to close. We asked for an EU to US electrical adapter on the phone and they brought it to our room!

I had to stay in Zurich for one night because the time of my arrival was too late to take a train home. The hotel is perfectly located (2.5 Km away from the airport) and you can easily get to it by train or bus or taxi. The room was really comfortable and clean. It had a safe, a TV, a fridge with water and a cozy bed, plus wardrobe. Breakfast was very nice, too. Staff was professional, kind and helpful.

Swiss budget motels are better than most American 3+ star hotels. Tram is seconds from hotel. Tram cost 2.70 Swiss Franc one-way (May 2023). Less than 20 minutes from Lake Zurich. Room was good enough size for one short night before the airport. Laundry on-site. Food/drink vending machine in lobby.

I stayed in a pod after arriving back on a late flight, instead of driving home at midnight. The pod was nice, very comfortable. The temperature was marginally too warm for me however, and you can't change the settings. That's where the positive experience ended. My phone charging port didn't work - that's fine - I can overlook that, but it's not ideal I was woken at 4.30am by people getting up and ready for the early morning flights. They were crashing and banging around with the doors and fiddling around with their luggage. Ultimately I couldn't get back to sleep because of the continued crashing and banging and ultimately only got 3.45 hrs sleep (I know this because my fitness tracker tells me so). So it was completely pointless staying - I would have got a better night's sleep at home with my 3 year old and 10 month old in the room next door. I believe the hotel's model doesn't work for the following reasons: 1) Each pod has a door with a very noisy latch. The latch doesn't have to be noisy if people are considerate, but a lot of people aren't considerate at the best of times, let alone at 4am in the morning when getting up for an early flight. It's all well and good to have lots of signs saying ”shh!” On the walls, but most people don't see it, or at least it doesn't sink in. I stayed in a capsule hotel on Japan that has roller blinds instead of doors, which are much quieter 2) people are allowed to bring their luggage into the sleeping space. This invites people to fiddle around with their luggage, which disturbs others from their sleep. Again, in the pod hotel in Japan, people must lock their luggage in lockers in the changing rooms, and are not allowed to take anything into the sleeping space - it works much better 3) the hotel has plenty of separate rooms, with a number of pods in each. Why not allocate guests to rooms by their time of arrival and departure, so that late arrivers don't disturb early departures, and vice versa? Overall, if the above 3 things are fixed, I'd probably stay again, but otherwise, definitely not

The location is very good, it is close to the city center, and there is a public tram stop nearby.  But we are self-driving tours. There is no paid large public parking lot. The so-called parking lots shown on the mobile phone map are private or supermarkets. In short, he will not give you parking as soon as the supermarket closes. Payment is not paid or paid. In short, if you drive over, don't look like we stormed  looking for a public parking lot in this area, you can't find it, put it on the street.  There is no picky place to live. There is also a cute small terrace that is to study how to open the iron curtains for a while. It turned out that the switch was on the back of a wooden frame, not on the window. The cleanliness is high, the space is large, the cabinet is very beautiful, and it is also equipped with a dishwasher, which is very convenient. This is our dinner.  Everything is good. If you want to be picky, the two cooking pots are not very useful. I hope to finish these small things. It will be perfect. Next time I come to Zurich, I will live in this room, because the check-in is simple, he will give you a password and press the password key at the door and fall off, and there is a lock at the gate, the whole seat is safer, there is also an elevator Don't worry about luggage . But on the last day, I have to leave  and open this apartment and move to the hotel, because he has no luggage storage 

A great boutique hotel in old town Zurich. 6 minute walk from Zurich HB train station after our flight into Zurich. Front desk staff Sam was extremely helpful and very polite, spoke English very well. Very clean hotel completely updated and this location is AAA for restaurants and bars, and is also quiet for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was ample to start our day. Coffee was great and a good selection of meats, cheeses, cereal and juice. The chocolate fondue machine at the entrance was really neat!
