Alexandra Elegance Bridging Generations

We booked our week holiday with tui, a long trip to Thásos but a relatively pleasant one (especially the ferry trip which was very scenic). we were dropped off at what we thought was our hotel but was in fact the sister hotel next door, once we realized this we were transported by golf buggy to our hotel and from this point on it was pretty much perfection. We checked in by the receptionist (her name escapes me, sorry), who was friendly and pleasant, after a brief explanation about our all inclusive package we were offered a drink of our choice while we were checked in, we both had amazing and refreshing strawberry daiquiris, we then were shown to our suite. the suite we chose was a sea view grand (junior) suite with private pool, it was everything we hoped for, a beautiful room, clean, spacious, the bathroom was large and luxurious, twin sinks bath and separate shower. the living room/bedroom was lovely with a corner sofa looking out of the patio doors with a view of our pool and the sea beyond, the pool was clean and cool with 2 sun loungers (very comfortable) and a seating area. All in the room was amazing and very comfortable. We read many reviews which mainly talked about the food at Alexandra Elegance, and it did not disappoint. the food was incredible. We had an all inclusive package which was as part of our deal we could dine next door once a week, but we found this unnecessary as the food at the site restaurant (YOLO) was fantastic, buffet style for breakfast is full of choice salad, fruit, hot and cold food all of excellent quality. Again lunch is buffet style , you can eat light or heavy meals, again all excellent quality. Dinner is where it truly shines, you can have starter buffet style which is always superb and then you get a choice of either meat or fish from the a la carte menu, these a la carte meals are nothing short of superb especially the meat dishes (compliments to the chef). Then you have the desserts which again are on the buffet, but don't let this fool you, they are fantastic and usually a wide variety which you just want to taste them all!! again as all inclusive our drinks were free and found ourselves usually having a cocktail with our meals and they are expertly made and delicious (but can be strong, at least for us as we do not drink much). the waiting staff are polite and friendly especially Georgia and Tasos (Maitre d'hotel). Alexandra Elegance has a beach at the hotel which it shares with its sister hotel but i could be mistaken. the beach was literally a minute walk from our room and was always quiet ( not empty but never over crowded). the beach is very stony which i think is very typical in Greece , this can be easily remedied by buying some beach shoes from the local town which is a maximum 10 minute walk away (really very close). Had a fabulous holiday at Alexandra Elegance. The staff were all so friendly and could not do enough for us. Cressera met us when we arrived and was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing we had booked bed and breakfast but we did upgrade to half board after eating at the hotel one evening. Fantastic fun staff Tasos who looked after us in the restaurant was brilliant and his team Georgia, Yiani and all the other staff were so attentive. The bar staff made fabulous cocktails, thanks to Stella, Popi and George. Housekeeping was fantastic we had clean towels every day and our suite was kept spotless. We loved having our Junior Suite with private pool and sea view. Everyone was so friendly and if you had any problems or needed any thing it was sorted instantly. Thanks to everyone at the Alexandra Elegance for making our holiday so enjoyable ( apologies for spellings of the staff names). We will definately be back!

We really thank you for your warm hospitality. This is our second visit your hotel and this year our experience is much better than last year. Normally, in the second visits we see that service quality reduces in the hotels. Because, we get used to having the same service. But, we saw that your quality has increased. Your staff always have smiling face. I believe good jobs are done with good staff and good staff are never cheap! So, I think, your staff are the heroes of this success of quality. I hope you can keep this staff of quality in the future. We will be looking forward to visiting your hotel next year. Since we left very early, breakfast package was very smart action of hospitality. We stayed here as a couple in early June 2004. We arrived at the sister hotel for check in and we were quickly taken to the Elegance in a golf buggy with our luggage, for a simple check in whilst we enjoyed a welcome drink by the pool. The Hotel itself is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Rooms were very luxurious and our private pool was heaven with sun-loungers and comfortable patio furniture provided around it. The sea views around the hotel and from the restaurant are magnificent. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and we were not disappointed at all. All drinks are known international brands and the barman was great at creating some lovely cocktails, both from the list and more bespoke ones. The food here really is excellent with a choice of buffet and a la carte menus, the focus here seems to be on quality over quantity but there is always a good selection to choose from, including some lovely traditional Greek dishes every day. There is the option to eat in the Greek taverna next door but we didn't take that option as we found the onsite restaurant had all we needed. The beach was shingle but nice and there is an area reserved specifically for guests at the Elegance. A nice beach bar down there serving drinks and more cocktails. There is a water-sports centre right on the beach offering all the usual water sports plus motorboat hire (highly recommended) at reasonable prices. The only slight moan would be that the very short walk to the beach (50 yards or so) could do with a little TLC. The hotel has a really laid back vibe every where and was so laid back. If you wanted a bit more life, the village of Potos is literally a five minute walk away. Overall though, the thing that really makes this hotel is the staff. Every single one of them is a credit to the hotel, always smiling and friendly and really cant do enough for you. Every request we had was dealt with with a smile and we really felt welcome here. The staff treat us more like friends than hotel guests. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you are looking for a relaxing holiday and we have already recommended to our friends. We stayed in suite with private pool. Beautiful room, beautiful place, beautiful people with smile and very helpful. They make us gift every day, the breakfast was tasty with many choices. Yes it cost more than ordinary but it worth every cent!If you visit Thassos this hotel must be your first choice!!

What a fantastic hotel ! As soon as I saw photos of the hotel I had to booked it. As soon as we turned up the staff couldn't be more helpful , showed us around the resort and our suite. Staff was fantastic , looking after your every need ! The food was superb and the spa was so relaxing

Together with my husband we had an amazing time in Alexandra Elegance. Delicious food, beautiful views, comfortable and clean room. We highly recommend such hotel for overstimulated people, since Alexandra Elegance is very quiet and serene. It is a best place to relax and chill out. The greatest advantage of Alexandra Elegance is the staff. They are friendly, professional and always willing to help and tend to your needs. Especially, we enjoyed spending time in the Pool Bar with interesting cocktails menu and very skilled and communicative bartender. If you are looking for a true five star hospitality, but in a relaxed rather than pompous manner, Alexandra Elegance is definetely a place for you.

The Alexandra Elegance is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The hotel is spotless clean and in immaculate condition. We stayed for 10-nights late May – early June 2024. The hotel was just about full during our final days but never felt at all crowded at any time. Rooms are spacious and get room service twice daily. Breakfast and Dinner menus had plenty of hot and cold varieties each day. We booked on a half board basis and we intended eating out on some evenings. However we found the hotel restaurant so good that we ate in every evening. The menus were excellent and varied every evening. The food was cooked to perfection and this is not an exaggeration. It really was superb. The hotel is quiet so don’t expect evening entertainment etc. Its sister hotel next door is larger and has some evening entertainment if that what you are after. The hotel has plenty of staff to cater for all your needs. We found them all to be very cheerful, friendly and attentive. The hotel rooms are split over just 2 floors with ground floor rooms benefiting from having your own private pool with sun loungers. The main pool area consists of 3-pools and is spacious with more than enough comfortable sun loungers, seating and tables etc. The pool area overlooks the hotels private beach and again has plenty of sun loungers. The hotel also has its own beach bar. The beach itself is clean with showers and immaculate toilet facilities. The hotel beach is not soft sand. It’s a pebble / shingle beach so top tip – take sea shoes. The hotel is located just outside the small costal town of Potos. Turn right outside the hotel and a 10-minute stroll will take you into the town where you will find the usual gift shops, mini markets and several bars and tavernas. Potos also has its own beach and is also mostly sandy. Turn immediately left outside the hotel and another short 10-minute stroll along a path will take you to another quiet and beautiful sandy beach in a secluded bay backed by a few beach tavernas. If I was to be really critical then the only faults I could find is that some of the buffet food could have been kept hotter. It was always cooked to perfection but at times was warm and not hot. My only other criticism is with some of the guests not bothering with any sort of dress code for evening dinner. I totally understand that we are talking Greece and Greece being famous for its “laid back” attitude. I would not expect dinner jackets or even collar and tie but I would have expected the hotel being 5 star to have some sort of “smart casual” evening dinner dress code. The beautiful restaurant and terrace deserves better than some guests arriving for dinner in “beach dress” i.e. flip flops, swim shorts, t shirts etc etc. All things considered I think that this hotel is well worthy of its 5-star rating. Thank you for the pleasant and relaxing stay. We chose the hotel because of the simple and elegant interior, the green areas and of course the view of the sea and the proximity to the beach. We were most charmed and impressed by the lady who welcomed us (with attention to detail) and the nice young people from the restaurant and the bar.
