I booked a non-cancellable room two months in advance, only to see the price drop significantly. Ctrip contacted the hotel on my behalf, but they wouldn't offer a price match. They did say I could change rooms, but only to a lower-category room type without changing the price, which felt pretty disingenuous. For a hotel in this price range, the breakfast was far too simple. There really wasn't any notable service either. The value for money is extremely poor. Besides the pseudo-volcano, all other nearby attractions are quite far away. Ctrip's service was excellent; this negative review is for the hotel, not for Ctrip.

I booked a non-refundable room two months in advance, and the price just kept dropping. Ctrip contacted the hotel on my behalf, but they said they don't offer price matching. They did say I could change rooms, but only to a lower-category room type without a price change, which is quite baffling. For a hotel in this price range, the breakfast was far too basic. And there was hardly any service to speak of. Overall, very poor value for money.

Hotel is new and clean. The floor in the room is heated. They offered northern lights wake-up service. The breakfast taste good and they offered discounts for souvenirs to customers staying with them. The price is relatively lower after discount for similar item found at city area. Overall, a nice experience staying with them.

The feeling at Laxá Hotel is quiet and cozy. I really love the location and the view over Mývatn. The room is clean and comfortable, and the staff are very nice and friendly. Overall, it was a great stay—breakfast is included and offers quite a good variety of options.
