Alpine Meadows Resort is beautiful 😍. Family of four, two kids aged 8 and 11yrs. We stayed for 2 nights that saw the resort battered by an intense down-burst storm. The power went down and things were not looking great. However… Katie and her team were completely brilliant. They moved us to a different cabin that did have power and took care of everything for us before we even got to think about it. All the staff were super friendly and helpful; the food at the restaurant and bbq fireside grill (really delicious home made ranch dressing at the bbq grill!) was all great as was the breakfast selection. An all around very enjoyable stay:) Thank you Katie and team ❤️

Supermooi uitzicht, ruime full hook-up plaatsen.

We recently spent two nights here and throughly enjoyed our stay. The cabins are faultlessly presented and very comfortable. The food is excellent and there are great facilities on offer for both fun and essential services such as laundry. The location and setting is beautiful- relaxing and away from the crowds, the road to the resort is partly gravel but it’s easily passable and a small price to pay. Above all the people, especially Katie, are fun, professional and dedicated to looking after you. Highly recommended.

We stayed in cabin 209 for 4 nights. The drive in from Clearwater really was not bad at all - having read some of the other reviews I was a little concerned, however it is a wide road with some gravel in places. I wouldn't necessarily be driving it overly speedily, however it was absolutely fine and certainly not as bad as has been suggested. When I mentioned this to one of the members of staff she said that alot of British guests say the same. It took around 30 minutes from Clearwater. The cabin itself was incredible - the spa bath in cabin 209 was a particular bonus! The location is stunning and the two walks from the resort are great (the 3rd sadly closed due to trees being down after a storm). The lake - rowing and kayaking were an added bonus. We saw beavers and flying fish while there. I would suggest self catering and bringing all the food you need unless you are happy to spend quite a lot of money in the boathouse. We ate their once - I really liked my chicken. All staff members we met were lovely and very helpful. For the drive out we took the other road (Barriere) but split off and took the Little Fort ferry. This road is smaller and more gravelly with cattle grids along it. I was less keen on this road but still 100% fine - no flat tyres. Our rental car is a 4x4 and coped well. We just took it slowly and the 2 car little ferry was a lovely addition at the end of our stay!

So, I’ll start at the beginning, the road! Don’t be put off by reviews. It’s pretty well made up, some of it is tarmac, and is a straightforward drive. I’m referring only to the section from Clearwater - we didn’t use the other access road so can’t comment. The resort is beautiful, a wonderful lake surrounded by mountains and trees, lovely log cabins, and lots of quiet time. There’s an alpine walk and a lakeside trail (which is a little more challenging than we expected) to enjoy, neither are over long. Kayaks and rowing boats on the lake can be used free of charge. Breakfast at the Boathouse Restaurant is good, plenty of choice and well prepared and you can sit outside beside the lake which is really nice. There are evening meals there too but we didn’t sample them - other guests said food was good. We had some tasty food at the Fireside Grill which is good if you don’t fancy the restaurant. Our cabin was very clean and comfortable. TV and wifi if you want it but you might just sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view. Aircon is very good and was definitely needed during our stay in early September. Add to this friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay and it made an ideal stop on our tour around BC.

Cabins were lovely and the hotel is in a peaceful and isolated location - half an hour from the nearest town and along a dirt track. Being in such an isolated location means that it is critical that there is a good restaurant and ideally a shop or cafe on site. The restaurant was OK. The food was excellent but clearly the managers are having difficulty attracting suitable staff. During our two night stay, the kitchen sent out the wrong meals and were incredibly slow. There seemed to be no management of the staff with the 'Customer service manager' sitting down at guests' tables chatting whilst the restaurant service itself was malfunctioning. There was simply no management taking place with a staff member who had only been employed for a couple of days doing all the work whilst other employees were either chatting at the bar or flitting around doing very little. Hopefully the staffing and management issues can be sorted as everything else was really good.
