This budget hotel is located in front of Komtar where are the buses stop. For transportation it is not a problem. The airport bus also stop at Komtar,and if you are going to jetty,then the bus stop stop just 3 minutes walk in front of the temple. The hotel door is always lock, so you need to push the bell if you are the first timer. You need to climb up the stairs as the lobby is located at second floor, be reminded there is no doormen to help you carry heavy luggage. Be careful while you are climbing the stairs as some steps are broken. The lobby has plenty of sitting with nice decoration for those who like Instagram pictures. At lobby area also have a small open air space,maybe for smoking. The room I booked is a twin room and facing the backyard,so it is very quiet. Front room will be very noisy as the traffic is endless around Komtar. The room is OK in size and cleanliness,but a bit dark. Inside the room there is a small working desk but you won't be able to use it as the kettle is also sharing the desk. My bad experience is the safety box, it is out of order and not able to use it permanently as the batteries leakage have rooted the whole panel. The bathroom is bright and looks very clean,the water is good with hot and cold water. This hotel is near restaurants, as Penang is so famous with food. If you like walking,then everywhere is within walking distance such as the night food street, the Weld, the old city etc. Considering the best location and best room rate,I will certainly return to stay.

Very convenient accommodation! Cool large apartments, balcony, swimming pool, washing machine in the room, own kitchen and large refrigerator. Near the house there is a grocery store, bus stop, Starbucks and a lot of cafes. Of the minuses - they did not clean the apartment and did not change the towels. Oh! There is also a window into the hallway, which is strange and interferes with soundproofing.

The room has two bedrooms and one living room. The sofa in the living room can be used as a bed. It can accommodate up to 6 people. The landlord will inform you of the accommodation details by email, and you can call the housekeeper on the same day. She will arrange check-in and parking at the door, and take you to the room to introduce the details. A deposit of 100RM is required for each key and access card. We booked the double room family stay, was fantastic. We were first greeted with smile, great service from the reception up till our room service. My room had some condensation, and the staffs actually arranged for a replacement room. There is a kids pool with sand play! So my child gets to play sand without crossing to the beach. The hotel is clean, the breakfast buffet is good, serves local food, location is easy to get to. A pleasant stay.

Good spot for a pleasant and laid-back holiday. You may wander around to reach the restaurants and cafes. The hotel also provided pamphlets about Georgetown, including activities and places to visit. The family suite is spacious, comfortable, and tidy. They also have a security guard on duty. The staff is nice and approachable. We had a good experience there. Unfortunately, the facilities are limited. We stayed for a week, but the bedsheet was not changed according to hotel rules. They will supply new shower towels when they make up the room, but not tissue rolls. We had to request it at the front desk, and they delivered it the next day (we understood, maybe because it's only the two of them on duty). The WiFi signal is intermittent. A family suite room does not have a mini refrigerator. When we arrived, the telephone cable had been disconnected. There are just a few charging plugs. Furthermore, Trip.com states that breakfasts are available at the hotel's front desk. However, they do not provide breakfast. I hope this gets rectified on the website. Thank you very much. Nevertheless, it's a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Shangri-la Rasa Sayang resort as part of a journey down memory lane. Having lived in Penang in my childhood I was visiting with my wife after over 40-years and the only place I wanted to stay was this hotel where I had once been as a young boy. I’m glad to say that the hotel not only fulfilled my emotional needs but stands tall for its prime beach location, grand design, lush gardens, amazing buffet, and exotic ocean views. The reception staff recognized my milestone birthday at check in and sent us a bottle of red wine 😊 which was a great start. Our room had one of the best views from the balcony (most rooms have a good view) and a very comfortable bed, fully equipped bathroom and amenities. Outside the buffet in the morning are two hawkers preparing Teh Tarik and Kaya Toast while the buffet itself includes Malaysian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Western, and bakery sections. It’s a large dining area inside but also a lot of garden seating with ocean views. We got massages on the beach both days (which I highly recommend) and my wife also got a facial at their spa. Ours was the Garden Wing which is newer with an artistic pool area but the adjacent Rasa Wing which dates back to the original hotel is also equally good. The Batu Ferringhi road is lined with hotels and hawker markets which really come alive at night…we did walk through them once but preferred to relax in the resort itself. It’s a 20-25-min drive from Georgetown and about 30-45-min from the Penang bridge. If you’re looking to get the best in terms of a relaxing holiday and ease of access to other parts of Penang, I would highly recommend this hotel!
