Hotels near Santa Margarita beach, Tinos

The hotel is blessed with the most amazing natural setting high in the hills with a beautiful vista down to the Aegean – you’d be hard pressed to find a better view in Tinos! The hotel itself has been beautifully designed to match its natural surroundings; the room was spacious and clean. However, the service did not match the 5* location and given the hotel’s price point I think they need to do a lot better on this front if they want to succeed in making the hotel a luxury option in Tinos. A couple of observations: - A complimentary bottle of water was provided on arrival in your room – this was never replenished during our 5 night stay. - Service around the pool area was practically non-existent (you had to go looking for waiting staff if you wanted a drink). - The lamps which created the mood lighting next to our table were removed mid-dinner service and taken upstairs for a private function. - We struggled to arrange car hire and when I contacted the hotel prior to our arrival they just provided me with the telephone number of their preferred supplier. Again, given the price point of the hotel and fact its targeting the luxury market, you’d expect them to be of more assistance in arranging this. - One evening we ordered drinks after returning from dinner to enjoy on our balcony. We had to stand in middle of restaurant to wait for them – if there is no lounge / bar area then they should be better equipped to provide room service. Operationally, the hotel was operated as a restaurant and not as a hotel. The hotel has huge potential but they do need to address these operational issues if they wish to succeed in the luxury market.

We arrived at the Nimbus Mykonos Hotel with five friends to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday and were welcomed warmly and with great respect. Initially, one of our rooms was a bit remote and lacked a view, but the attentive staff quickly made up for it by offering us daily transfers to their luxurious sister hotel, MYAKTIS, part of the same fantastic Nimbus chain. The pool, with its sunbeds overlooking the breathtaking blue sea, was a highlight, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms we stayed in were spacious, featuring a bathtub and a jacuzzi on the balcony. Although we encountered a minor issue with the water temperature in the jacuzzi, the room itself was beautiful, with stunning views of the sea and the hotel’s impressive pool. We also appreciated how close our rooms were, allowing us to enjoy time together on the balconies. On behalf of myself and my friends, I want to express our heartfelt thanks to the entire hotel staff and the kind waiters at breakfast and the pool bar. Exceptional, beautiful, faultless! We were absolutely blown away by the high standard of service, cleanliness and attention to detail of this stunning hotel. We stayed for 7 nights, bed and breakfast. Arrival: Upon arrival, we were greeted with a watermelon mocktail, a steamed hot cloth and small hand sanitiser bottle. Friendly staff gave us a map of the town and useful information about taxis and restaurants etc. before escorting us to our room; helping to carry our luggage. Room: The room was spotless, gorgeous decor of crisp white sheets with pops of colour in the rug and artwork. Posh coffee machine. Complimentary bottle of local wine and snacks. Luxury toiletries in the bathroom (which were regularly topped up/ replaced). Arrived at night time but waking up to fully take in our surroundings and sea view in the sunshine was amazing (which by the way, was a free upgrade from a garden room). The cleaning staff were brilliant, always friendly and replaced any towels when left on the floor. Facilities: Again, spotlessly clean walkways and communal areas. Contemporary reception/ lobby area with many comfy seating areas. The pool area was gorgeous, fresh towel station for whenever yours got too soggy. Super comfortable sun beds with thick double beds over the edge of the pool. Staff regularly walk around to ask if you’d like a drink or food. Chilled house music in the background. If you bought spirits, you’d get complimentary nuts and crisps too. Breakfast: 5* is an understatement. I’ve previously stayed in 5* Riu hotels and Kyma knocks them out the park. As it’s much smaller than massive Riu hotels, the attention to detail and service is amazing. The options were amazing including vegetarian and vegan options. The yoghurt and granola station was the best I’ve experienced out of about six 5* Greek hotels I’ve been to before. Fresh coffee and juice straight to your table as well as Prosecco daily!!! We thought it might have been for special guests or someone with a birthday, nope. All guests. Every morning! We would take our glass of Prosecco after breakfast to the shaded lounge area with sofas by the pool to relax. Other: All staff were so helpful and friendly. I had a wonderful back massage one afternoon and we shared a couple’s experience of the spa dipping in all 5 pools with different temperatures and oils. They even took us to the spa in a golf buggy to save us walking uphill. Worth every penny and will 100% return in future!

We loved our stay in this hotel! The staff were amazing. Special mention to Joseph the driver, alway happy, informative, a real asset to the hotel. Claudia In concierge was also superb, thank you. Pool staff very attentive as were restaurant staff. Hotel amenities were great although I would not call our bedroom 5 star, bathroom rather tired and in need of upgrade. Pool restaurant was good as was the main dining room, although I felt it was rather overpriced for what you got. One bug bear was if you ask for a single glass of red wine in the restaurant it arrives COLD! That’s a complete no no. Please do something about that. I know it’s minor but nothing worse than cold red wine! Thank you for our relaxing break. We loved it at St John. All in all a lovely hotel and I would not hesitate to come back.

From the moment we got there to the moment we left, this was an absolutely exceptional experience. We spent 4 nights at the Amazon and lovely every second. The location was great for us and was in a quieter area in the west, which was nice to get away from the bustle of the main town and the beach clubs, but if you’re looking to be closer to those you may want to explore other hotels as it was a 15 minute ride into town and back and each ride was about 20-25 Euros. Even so, it was well worth it for us because everything about the hotel was superb. Major kudos to Chronis and the rest of the staff for their tremendous hospitality and assistance with arranging transfers and with reservations and recommendations. For room, we had the Eros suite which I very highly recommend if you can get it. Other rooms have a private pool also but ours was the only one that is heated. Also the room was very private and had gorgeous views of the sea and part of the island. The daily breakfast was also exceptional with numerous options to choose from. The pool area was also beautiful and essentially felt like being at a beach club but without the chaos. Overall we cannot say enough great things about Amazon and would definitely stay here again. I only wish we had more time there but alas we had to move on to Santorini. :)
