I've been wanting to visit Tirana in Albania for some time now. As I had high expectations, I did everything to make that dream come true. It finally happened at the beginning of December, and what a wonderful surprise, not only for the city in general but also thanks to the hotel where I stayed with more than excellent treatment. The Hotel Vila Fernando, located a few minutes from the centre of Tirana, also has a bus stop in front of the hotel. That is very practical. The hotel has a small number of bedrooms, each one with different decorations and named after classical music composers. The hotel's decor, with paintings scattered throughout the public areas, makes us think of being in an art museum. The room where I stayed was quite spacious, with a good bed, clothes closet, desk, chairs, television and mini fridge, among others. The private bathroom, with a shower, also had a hair dryer. The breakfasts, always with plenty of variety, were enough to start my visits to Tirana well-fed. Last but not least, Arta, the hotel owner, was extremely friendly and of good help. The first morning, she showed me the most important places to visit in Tirana and drew a personalised map while she explained each detail. She also offered to help me during the day if necessary and while I was downtown. Well, I messaged her a few times and always got a quick answer back from her. After three days of staying at the Hotel Vila Fernando, it was with regret that I had to say goodbye and go back to the airport to catch my return flight.
