Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort

This is a lovely hotel in a lovely surrounding but made even better by the staff and the service offered. The hotel is large, with 2 large wings of rooms, with the amenities at the centre. The room was fine- as others have said its a little dated but the bed was comfortable, the shower great, plenty of storage and a lovely balcony. The safe was a bit of a mystery, but a quick call bought security over who showed us how to resolve the issue. To be fair we were shown to our room and given some instruction but not this so ask about it when you go! There is a fridge which you can bring drinks back to - ask at the bar for drinks to take away. Bottled water is given every day but you can ask for this everywhere on the site. It's a bit strange as an all inclusive as you wear a wrist band but have to sign for everything. This is a bit alarming to start with but you don't get a charge. There is a good range of restaurants to choose from - breakfast is representative of local food which is lovely, plus some more generic foods. Coffee is great! There is an offer of afternoon tea but this is not well published and difficult to find. The coffee shop is just outside and we tried to go twice and it was closed (although the timetable said it should be open). The restaurants change where lunch and dinner are being served but this is on the board at the bottom of the big stairs from reception. Lunch in the outside a la carte is large portions! The pool bar opens at 10am and has a good range of drinks and cocktails. There was 1 day of heavy rain so the upstairs bar opened early instead which was great. Whilst we were there it was the FA cup final which was put on in the bar before it opened and staff came in and offered drinks to save us going down to the pool bar which was much appreciated. Our only slight gripe about the pool bar is that it doesn't keep to the published times - on q couple of days they closed 20-30 mins early and wouldn't serve us a drink which was annoying. The pool area is lovely - loads of sunbeds so never any worries about where to park for the day! There are no sunbed mattresses which is not a major problem, but could be for some people. The upstairs bar is great - staff are friendly and the menu is good. The loaded fries, burger and steak were our favourites. Cocktails are brilliant! The site is surrounded by the golf course. If you like to walk or run, this is a great location. There are caiman in the large ponds as well as lots of birds - we loved going out early to watch them. Staff warned us to keep a distance from the caiman as they can creep up on you! The beach is still suffering a little from the oil spill - you can see what it was like previously from the tide line but it's clear a lot has been done to clean it up so don't let this put you off. The hotel faces the Atlantic which is not safe to swim in anyway due to the currents. The staff definitely make this stay - always friendly and helpful. Shout out to the pool g

Forget the reviews, this is an natural and unspoiled island paradise, it has so much original culture and history the people are amazing and always happy and willing to help and talk about the island and their culture. Home from home treatment, relaxing and peaceful. The hotel staff truly made our holiday perfect, always cheerful and accommodating, to mention a few, Pamela our mum away from home, Susan, Khadija, Petrine, Izacha, Runesia, Caren and Diamond. One of the waiters Adrian even went out of his way to give us some sunburn soothing plant. We will be back for sure. Island tour and Pidgeon point just stunning.

We chose Magdalena for our sons wedding this May for several reasons too long to list. Number 1 on the list was customer service. Planning a destination wedding requires prompt and clear communication at all times, which is exactly what we got, thanks to Ria. Outstanding service, and outstanding food, factor no. 2. The facilities were perfect, accommodating an outside ceremony with an inside ballroom for the reception. The buffet served was incredible!!! The food, the presentation, the quality and options available were beyond our expectations, phenomenal, just incredible!!!! Highly recommended Magdalena!!!

We visited for the Father’s Day celebration at Magadelena grand hotel, In my opinion it was the best ever experience ,the food was amazing, plenty options and great cocktails. Our server Petrina was truly a gem 💎 She made the experience so great with such a warm and welcoming smile and personality. Nice entertainment by the pool hosted by Nicholas and the lady with him . Will be back soon .

The Magdalena resort was the best holiday my wife and I have ever been on. The resort was beautiful and the food was exceptional, but what truly stood out was the staff! Everybody was so amazing! But there was some people that stood out! Rhonda, Lorraine, Khadije and Cecelia were truly amazing and so attentive! A wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back!

Lovely hotel with golf carts to ferry you to your rooms! Breakfast was nice. Hotel is a bit dated and you can see rust on the metalware but I understand the sea breeze would be a nightmare to contend with. The hotel safe didn’t have instructions on how to use it but reception sent an engineer to see to that quickly. Our room didn’t have a kettle but again reception sent someone down with one quickly. There was no room service menu in our room either. Staff were very polite and pleasant especially Adanna in the Nylon Pool bar. She makes the best cocktails..

Very nice hotel , clean friendly staff Especially vallarie looking after us Khadija in the reastraunt very helpful too . Ian the chief made us what we wanted to eat and has made our holiday experience very special. Came to celebrate my 60th birthday Very well recommend hotel

We had a great time and enjoyed our family time here . Had great service from Khadija Salina, supervisor Valery and Shef Nil made few days our request food and made our staying more enjoyable.Troy was great to introduce us to Ian for fresh coconut .loved the local fruits. Genesis served us with smiley face everyday and make us happy . Overall our staying was very great with good staff like this special people .
