Courtyard Topeka

I stay in hotels all the time. I would have expected a Marriott chain to be top notch. Not this one. My bed had something spilt all down it. AFTER IT was made. Only thing they could do was flip the mattress change the bed skirt mattress pad and linens. I asked for a new bed. They don’t have extras. My sheets didn’t even fit. They were all out of Queen anything. Had to put king everything on the bed. I had to ask for a microwave which they provided. The room was dirty/ dusty. The bathroom door didn’t shut the latch was off centered. The window was old obviously not included in the remodel it whistled all night long when the wind blew. And we know the wind can blow in Kansas. They offered credit at the restaurant/ bar. I never used it. the whole place was too dirty to even fathom eating there. I feel the entire staff is just lazy!! They didn’t do their jobs. If I wasn’t in town for a funeral I would have changed hotels but I didn’t have that kind of time to do so. Shame on Marriott for even letting this place rent rooms. Oh yeah, they just remodeled. Ha.

This hotel is filthy. It looks nothing like the pictures. Do not stay here. Hotel staff was rude. The hotel is dated and dirty. Feels like there is a layer of grime on everything. The entire property (lobby, hallways, room, elevator) smells bad. The carpet is dirty, the linens were dirty, the towels were dirty and thin. The pictures make the property look renovated and new. This is not the case. Avoid at all cost. We left immediately and went to a different hotel. No refund given, hotel staff lied and told us the hotel was fully booked even though I went online and there were multiple rooms available.

Staff were LOVELY! Both reception and restaurant staff were amazingly sweet and helpful. Stayed here before and after Unbound Gravel and was able to prep my bike in the room. Breakfast at the bistro was excellent and the young lady running the restaurant was very helpful and did an excellent job. Elevator was a little dodgy and the area around had a lot of sirens and noisy cars drag racing up and down the street. Hotel was clean, room was clean, only issue with the room was the TV turning on randomly at 1:30am the night before Unbound, which wasnt ideal.

I really was disappointed in the pay for breakfast. The wait for microwaved food was too long and it was too expensive. When I checked out on Sunday morning around 7:00AM - there was no breakfast. I’m very ok with the standard continental breakfast you usually get at hotels.

overnight stay. beds were comfortable, no signs of poor care. our fro t desk young lady was new and she was friendly and helpful.

The lighting outside is dim especially in the back. The HVAC in room 301 did not cool adequately. The courtyard in the back was a mess with tables and chairs laying over. The grass in the courtyard was sparse. An open plumbing repair in the courtyard was an open ditch with no flagging. The lobby area and bar was very nice.

Ants in the room and extremely noisy throughout the night. We were on the first floor close to the front desk and there is no way they did not hear the running and screaming through the night. I expected some sort of credit but was offered nothing.

First room had a toilet that didn’t flush. Second room was fine. The place is older and a bit dingy. Only one elevator. Bistro was manned at night by someone lounging around rather than appearing as if she wanted to be helpful.
