Ideally located when travelling from Bilbao to Portugal. Very clean, large room with comfortable beds. Staff were efficient at the front desk. Did not use the restaurant. Instead, went across the road to Meson del Douro for dinner. Service was quick. If you don’t speak Spanish translate menu online so you know what to order.

The parador is well located and the facilities are clean and spacious, so they should enable rooms for smokers. What is not recommended at all is the restaurant food. Both the quality of the product and its preparation are not up to the standards of a four-star restaurant and two forks.

Lovely overnight stay on way from Santander port to southern Spain.
Good food in bar area as well as formal restaurant. Small indoor pool was nice.

Un sitio agradable en una ubicación muy chula, en general todo ok Personal atento, habitación correcta, amplia limpia , buenas camas , decoradas con ese mobiliario castellano que era habitual en los paradores, quizá un poco pasado de moda pero en buen uso , buen baño y sin ruidos Muy buen desayuno, lo único que siguen con los turnos de desayuno, que podía tener sentido con la reducción de aforos de la pandemia pero ahora... El domingo si digo una hora tardía y me despierto antes... O al revés pues no sé... Quitando este detalle que pasa en todos los paradores, es un sitio recomendable

Beautifully appointed, old style building. Bar food choices were excellent and open when the restaurant wasn’t. They had some vegan options, which was appreciated. Some drinking water in the bedroom would have been good, the hotel isn’t close to shops and the bar water is quite expensive.
