I had a lovely short stay at the Tropicana hotel. Check in was quick and easy, the room was spacious and nice and clean. The woman and man working at the hotel were both very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Situated on the outskirts of town this is a Motel in need of updating, the staff were difficult to understand but were okay. The room was around a courtyard where there is a separate laundry with drying lines provided. Overall I could not recommend this place unless it was given the makeover it badly needs.

Older motel room with minimal additions was totally suitable for our Bells Beach surf contest attendance. Great location, close to surf shops & Torquay central. Comfortable with all we needed at a very reasonable price. When the surf is flat, golf at The Sands was great.

Arrived on a Saturday evening at 6pm - service was pretty lacking. Literally given a key and told where to park, that was it Room was far from what was sold in the description on website - we stayed in a “Spa” room - listing included a hot tub but was actually a dirty jacuzz style bath tub Room was dated, dirty and mould above bathroom window. Definitely no blackout curtains again as was stated in room description which when you have a 2yr old is important for him to settle to sleep - we had to make our own Also air con only in the sitting room area, not in bedroom so when trying to sleep in high temperature was not pleasant at all. No fans provided either and when we went to ask at reception there was no one there (at 8pm) when the sign said reception open till 9pm Good location tho and easy parking Just nowhere near the high price tag attached to this room
