Hotel Ocean House Costa del Sol Affiliated by Meliá

Still here but heading off today. We booked premium and stayed on the 9th floor. We were made to feel so welcome by Angie on arrival. Premium room booking means you can use the premium lounge and roof top pool. The roof top pool is a delight but due to bad weather we didn’t really use it much. The premium lounge is nice but small. There are complimentary drinks and snacks included, although very few chairs to sit at outside. Could definitely do with better seating arrangements. Fernando from Premium desk was a super star, we felt very well looked after throughout our stay. Hotel is spotlessly clean, our room exceptionally so.. We paid half board but didn’t eat in the hotel in the evenings in the end as few vegetarian choices. Asked on the first day for the veg option and was made a cheese omelette and potato croquette fritter type thing which when cut into had ham inside. Soups are labelled as ‘lentil’ ‘vegetable’ but they also have fish or meat in (although they omit to mention this on the labels). On the whole I would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay again. All staff are so friendly and the hotel is in an excellent position for the Marina. We would just book bed and breakfast next time. The premium team were a major plus for us, superb staff who are a real asset to the hotel.

We used to stay at the Sol Aloha Puerto hotel. There has been a change of ownership and hotel name. Melia is not a guarantee of quality. Melia is a guarantee of cost-saving measures. The beds are so uncomfortable that my back still hurts. The bathrooms are at a 3-star level. Room cleaning and cleanliness are average. Breakfast and dinner are acceptable, although the selection could be better. The desserts, fruit, and cheeses are very good. The quality of the bread and pastries is low. The grilled meat is half-raw. The soups are inedible and heated semi-finished products. Preparing tea at breakfast is a trauma because making tea in coffee cups is absurd. Apparently, this is the Melia system, which they have introduced at the Sol Pablo hotel as well. The dining room staff are hardworking and polite. The reception staff work professionally and are truly excellent. Despite the mentioned shortcomings, I have no problem returning to the hotel. I believe they value their guests, and I hope the hotel's standard will improve.

Daniel at the pool was excellent his service was fast and efficient a well spoken polite bloke a credit to the company his knowledge of the area was very useful and made me and the other halfs stay even better as I knew good places to take the other half and made me look like a top g because of Daniels knowledge.

We've just returned from a wonderful week's holiday where we stayed at the Ocean View. The hotel is immaculately clean with the cleaning staff working constantly throughout the hotel during the day cleaning windows/doors/floors/handrails etc..I was very impressed! The check-in was swift and our room was ready upon arrival. Beautiful view of the marina and sea from the 7th floor. We were offered the option to upgrade to the Premium Level facilities for €40 per person per day. The room service/cleaning throughout our stay was exceptional...thank you! If you find the mattress too firm you can always ask for a topper to be put on. We went half board and couldn't fault the meals. My husband did not have the same meal twice during our stay so therefore there was plenty of variety. The dining room did get busy during some meal times but the staff worked tirelessly to ensure the guests were accommodated. The food was at the right temperature for both of us but if you wanted the food to be hotter there was a microwave available to use if you so wished. We used the hotel sunloungers on the beach one day and the option to do this instead of lounging by the pools was the right choice as they were very comfortable indeed. The loungers and parasol cost 7€ each unless you are a Premium Level guest and then they're free. There is a restaurant on the beach which you could use with 15% off any of your purchases. Note: You will need to use your room card to exit and enter the hotel grounds if you go to the beach/promenade via the rear of the hotel. The drinks throughout the hotel were reasonably priced. There is a happy hour 6.30-7.30 ? The hotel is able to arrange a taxi service to and from the airport which we didn't use but it turned out that it would have been cheaper than what we had arranged. There are taxis available outside the front of the hotel. One to the station cost 7 euros and the same amount going to the shopping centre (nearly the same location). There was entertainment in the evening (Elvis tribute was one) and organised activities in and around the hotel during the day, also trips out. The hotel activity time table and other information is displayed on the left wall as you go down to the restaurant as well as information left in your room. There is a cash machine in the hotel as well as a coffee machine (charge required). Just be aware that when you weigh your case on the hotel scales that there may be a difference from what the airport check-in scales say, as we found out (almost a kilogram difference).

Been to a few hotels in the area over the last few years and this one is by far our favourite. Facilities are superb and cleanliness is of a very high standard. Only negative for us was upon arrival the guy behind the reception who signed us in wasn't particularly welcoming and made us feel uncomfortable. Other than that the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food is very good especially as we were all inclusive. Gym was workable for me and was a nice bonus. Pools are fantastic and often have afternoon entertainment, as well as the bar by the front. Which is lovely to sit at in the evenings looking over the Mediterranean sea. Our room was absolutely lovely, clean and spacious. We had an amazing view of the Marina and towards Belamadina. We're visiting next summer and will be booking in here again. Family friendly and definitely our favourite hotel in that part of beautiful Spain.

Brilliant hotel. Staff are wonderful all very friendly are room was great lots of space. Restaurant food really good lots of choices Plus great afternoon entertainment at lower pool bar Second visit to this lovely hotel would definitely recommend plus you can always get a pool lounger any time of the day which is a big plus Roll on are next visit 👍😎

On arrival at hotel we were greeted by Angie in premier lounge , like meeting an old friends - she along with colleague Daniel made us so welcome and explained all the facilities in our package. Room was amazing and comfortable bed, fridge and kettle in our room restocked daily. Pool areas great and live entertainment was good by pool, afternoon and evening. Overall great time as first time guests , will definitely be back. Breakfast was as per normal , except on first day served down by pool for premium guests, which was better than buffet.
