Hotel Galvani

We first searched for a quiet location amongst the many towns around the lake and chose Torri Del Benaco for its central location and smaller size. We were not disappointed. Hotel Galvani is located 10 minutes walk from the town via a pleasant lakeside walk. On arrival we were greeted by the owner Federico who showed great pride in his hotel. Our room was a superior room on the 3rd floor and was pristine with amazing views of the lake with a double balcony. The main road was directly beneath our room and traffic noise was noticeable through the day but window shutters assured a good nights sleep. Sadly if a lake view is important to you then traffic noise is inevitable. Breakfast was good with a wide selection and the cappuccino was perfect and made to order. Lunch is not available but we were sightseeing every day so not an issue and dinner was served in the restaurant with a good menu selection. Three pools with an infinity pool on the top floor with amazing views and a lift to all floors. Parking was available onsite with an underground garage also available. Staff were friendly and helpful with advice on travel and trips available from reception staff. For us this was the perfect location and less hectic than other resorts and whilst we hired a car we also used the ATV bus with a stop just 200 metres from the hotel. Highly recommended and we hope to return.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The location was stunning overlooking the lake just outside the town. We had rooms in the main building which were clean and comfortable - and enjoyed our balcony with a lake view. Both the rooftop infinity pool area and the downstairs pool area were quiet and peaceful with deck chairs available throughout the day. Strange that there were no toilets on the rooftop area - so had to get lift downstairs and walk through the car park to use the facilities. This being a family run hotel makes all the difference as the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and Frederico was very kind to drive us into town when we couldn't get a taxi. (there is only one taxi in Torri!). Lunch was tasty but took a long while as this had to come from the restaurant in town. There was dairy-free alternative milk and gluten-free bread available at breakfast. We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return.
