Hotel Tórshavn

Lovely hotel in the harbour area of town. To check in, you pick up the phone on reception, confirm your details and they tell u your room number and PIN code to get in. Once in the room, there is a keycard for you. Different but works! Nice room and size Breakfast was ok next morning too Was in the Faroes for the football match between HB and Motherwell

Location is the main plus. My room was pretty small.

The handel of the window was broken, so we couldn’t open the window, and it was extremely hot. I called the staff about the problem and she promised to get someone to solve the problem, but no one showed up, we stayed there for 3 nights.. Then I wrote a complaint about it, and over 2 months later and no anwser.. This is very unprofessional.

Good and friendly service from desk and management. The hotel are in the middle of Thorshavn, close to shops and ferry´s.

This is a gem of a place right by the Harbour in Torshavn. Just over 100 years old with original lift and ok some plumbing too. Really friendly welcome. Room had harbour view which I wasn't expecting. And on site Thai restaurant with Mosselman Curry And essential Faroe dark beer Breakfast is nice hearty start to the day And they do airport transfers for DKK230

The good: • Very central location near the harbour The bad: • Hotel seems dated, room had a funny smell, most likely from the fitted carpet. • We booked a mid size room but then got a very small room, roughly 12 sqm instead of hte booked 19sqm. We weren’t even informed and while the staff on site promised to look into it, they never got back to us. Our travel agent tried to help but it seems the hotel claimed that our room had the correct size. Luckily I took a picture of the floor plan on the door to prove the smaller size – and hence also the dishonesty of the hotel. We got the refund eventually. But the refund was so small, I would have never agreed to the smaller room for that price, had I been asked.

Ideal place for Faroes visit Loved our stay here. Not fancy but comfortable and clean. Our “larger room with sea views” had stunning views over the harbor and the city. Great location by the harbor and close to the ferry terminal where the #300 airport bus terminates, along with other buses for island exploration.

1). Long period of time with no front desk staff; 2). Our flight was cancelled 3 days because of the weather, we didn't get chance to stay full term of our reservation. Yet hotel refused to reduce our total package.

The title says it all... this hotel in the centre of Tórshavn has a great location and our room had a fantastic view, but the superlatives stop there. The room is clean and adequately furnished, and the bed was comfortable. The means to make a hot drink was an unexpected bonus, but it just lacks character or anything memorable. Arrival was marred by a self-service check-in which didn't recognise our detail and it was over twenty minutes before anyone appeared at Reception to help us in spit of us following the instructions left on the desk to alert staff to problems. It was a Saturday evening and at 5.00pm we went downstairs to the bar for a pre dinner drink. STONGT! (Faroese word for closed!) Strange. Breakfast was included. It was underwhelming to say the least and none of the bread ( there were three or four choices) seemed very fresh. Again, adequate but lacking imagination. Again, no staff around when we were in there. In short, convenient if you want to stay over for a night on the town but not a place you will even remember in a month.
