Royal Seven Stars Hotel

The room is great with an excellent bathroom! However the stuff is a bit unfriendly and the check in time is 3:00 strict !

I am a frequent returning guest. The hotel is situated at bottom end of Totnes main street. It is a busy hotel and bar, serving food. The building is old with one central staircase leading to rooms. All the rooms I have occupied are very clean, decorated in a tasteful way and the beds are comfortable.. Teas are good quality Tea Pigs a small coffee machine is also provided, plus a bottle of water. I am a coeliac and vegetarian. Eating in other hotels is almost impossible,they simply do not cater for my dietary requirements,thankfully I am guaranteed a delicious breakfast here. One of the most important reasons for returning here is the customer service. The staff here are really approachable and friendly. Any issue you may have regarding your stay, they will do their best to help you resolve. T have stayed in other hotels etc if there aren't any vacancies here but from my experience if you like a relaxed friendly environment, lovely rooms, location Totnes as a base, then this is the place to come . It is also a short walk away from the most beautiful cinema I've ever been in, which is tucked away, along the main high street, My only wish is that more free parking was available . The hotel offers capacity for approx 6 cars at the rear of the hotel. There is plenty of paid parking in main street and nearby Morrisons.

Staff were amazing Arrived at 2am due to cancellation of train. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. They even allowed a late checkout considering I was only staying 1 night. Nothing was too much to ask. They see to enjoy the job and were eager to do over and above. Rooms are old but very clean. The restaurant food was excellent. Great location next to bespoke shops and few minutes walk from freedom hub. Will highly recommend 👌

Friendly hotel with a nice bar and good food. Position at the bottom of the High Street is great, however car park is very small and getting a place is a nightmare. Solution if you arrive after 4.30 is to park at Morrisons for 2 hours and then move to the High Street after 6.30. But remember to move it at 9.00. Our room 2 was a bit small with insufficient storage.

The hotel is situated at the Southern end of the town on the High street. Parking is very difficut, we had to park on the High street at first and then move into the small rear yard later in the evening. The room was large with a comfortable bed. Good shower and sitting room next door. Breakfast was excellent. Its a pub hotel.

We have just spent 5 nights at this great hotel. Our room and bathroom were very clean and bed and pillows super comfortable. Good breakfast choice. Had one evening meal which was delicious. Staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. Hotel is perfectly located for exploring South Devon, either by car, bus or rail. We certainly hope to return.

The hotel is fine in the public rooms, but the bedroom I stayed in is definitely overdue for refurbishment. I had points saved through stays elsewhere and so used these. Had I paid the asking price ( member £102) I would have felt very hard done by. It needs an interior designer's touch or at lease some colour and opulence in the bedrooms and some theming... an accent wall using the same wallpaper used on one wall in the dining area would make such a difference. It's a pity as it could be really lovely, but the bedroom I stayed it was a disappointment. At the very least a re-paint in required. Add some luxurious cushions and a throw and a very different vibe would be created at little cost.

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Seven Stars for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. For us, what really made our stay enjoyable was how friendly and helpful all the staff were. Nothing was too much trouble. We were allowed to leave our bikes safely in a room in the hotel and parked our car in the hotel car park. We had dinner in on our first night and the food was excellent. The dining room staff seemed genuinely happy to be serving us.

Stopped by on my way to get the train for a hen party. Arrived alone, very friendly young bar man. Beautiful front beer garden to watch the world go by with a glass of wine in hand. Menu looks lovely, wish I could on stopped for food but time didn't allow.
