Tralee Holiday Lodge

A very comfortable stay for two weeks. Friendly staff. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable . Only problem was no breakfast. Price is right and the location was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

I stayed in the Tralee Holiday Lodge for 2 weeks and I had a great stay, Matt (the host) was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, no breakfast was included but I was able to use the kitchen for meals.

Delighted to have found this place in the middle of Tralee. Stayed for four nights in comfortable twin room. Very friendly host Mathew. Paid parking available right beside property. Close to all amenities. Would recommend!

The localisation is ok. It was clean but rather old. The public parking is in front of the lodge. The hotel was ok for one-night stay. The staff was polite and useful. There was no possibility to buy a breakfast eventhoug the breakfast was served to the other guests. Tesco market is about 2minutes walk and the city center about 5minutes.

Excellent value for money. Staff are amazing (Matt could not do more to help make us feel at home). Simple but spotless clean rooms with everything that you need. Very comfortable beds. We actually booked two further stays in different sized rooms as other family members joined us (we started in a quad room, then a triple with a double room). Excellent location right in the heart of Tralee. Shops (incl Tesco's), restaurants and bars were only a stones throw away.

I really dislike leaving bad reviews, and I'm not particularly high maintenance, but I would avoid this place if you're considering a trip to Tralee. There was no hot water in the shower, which in November was grim. The mattress was very uncomfortable. Also the rooms are very cold, and the bed had only a thin duvet, I was too cold to sleep and ended up piling on my clothes to keep warm. It was the worst night's sleep I've had in years. It's not an expensive hotel, but the cost seems far too high given this. When I arrived there was nobody at reception and the whole place looked like a building site. Apparently they've been doing renovations for about three years. I had to phone to get someone to come check me in. I was given a key and told my room wasn't ready, and to come back in a while. I assumed there'd be someone there when I came back but the place was empty again, there was no further information, didn't get given the WiFi, or any info about checkout or anything. I didn't see anyone who worked here for the duration of my pretty uncomfortable stay. It was clean, and the location is central, but all told I'd recommend finding somewhere else.

The building looks like a hostel from the outside. but as we entered things began to go down hill fast. Most of the people in the lobby looked like social welfare dependents and whilst I realize they need somewhere to live I don't the their hostel should be called a "Holiday Lodge". To make matters worse the public areas were under construction. There were no social distancing measures, no masks and no one in charge. A very misleading name, website and description.
