Hotel Saint Georges

On est loin très loin d’un 5 étoiles 1. Parking praticable mais étroit, oubliez le si vous avez un suv type range rover 2. Reception pas très sympathique et pas souvent la. 3. Salle de bain moisie, parquet moisi, rouille partout. Douche qui fuit… Honteux pour un établissement affichant 5 étoiles 4. On nous trompe sur les étoiles, un panneau collé dans les chambres nous explique que ce n’est pas un vrai 5 étoiles, pourquoi ne pas le renseigner dans l’annonce ? Nous avons du attendre de rentrer dans l’appartement pour nous en rendre compte 5. Rapport qualité prix scandaleux au vu des prestations 6. Petit déjeuner basique sans viennoiseries facture 15€… 7. Nous étions avec notre bébé, on nous a fourni une chaise haute sur support pour les pieds, à la place, deux vis avec les pointes vers le haut !!!! Scandaleux et dangereux Pour résumer, nous avons été trompé, on est loin d’un établissement 5 étoiles. Nous n’y retournerons jamais et nous le déconseillons vivement, évitez le à tout prix !

J'avais réservé une nuit dans cet établissement via l'application Booking, au moyen d'une carte Visa en cours de validité. Le matin du jour de mon arrivée, j'ai été contactée par téléphone par une personne se présentant comme le gérant de l'hôtel. Cet homme insista lourdement pour que je lui communique mes coordonnées bancaires, afin de procéder à un "paiement par téléphone", soi-disant pour garantir que je ne ferais pas faux bond le soir même. Particulièrement sensibilisée à la problématique des fraudes, j'ai bien entendu refusé de lui communiquer ces informations. Ce monsieur, qui n'était déjà pas très agréable, s'est alors montré agressif, pour ne pas dire odieux. J'ignore s'il s'agit d'une tentative d'escroquerie mais j'ai préféré annuler ma réservation et loger dans un établissement plus accueillant, ce que je vous invite à faire également !

We are way beyond the scam. Here you are attracted by the five stars and the moderate price. But this dump is not a hotel, but a guest house. There is no reception service, breakfast is left outside the room door, there are no common areas except outdoors. It's freezing. I was in an attic on the top floor, a mezzanine, with a scary crack in the wall. The bed in the mezzanine was reached via a mountaineering-level ladder, the space under the mezzanine was less than two meters high, so that an Altina person could not pass without bending. All full of beams, so much so that you have to make contortions to cross the room. An indescribable cuisinette, as you can see in the photo. A refrigerator turned on but empty. The toilet room, long and without light, is not heated, so the excrement refuses to leave the welcoming and warm intestine. The toilet doesn't flush and isn't able to flush the waste away. I had to fill the bathroom bin with water, thus discovering that the relevant bag is not replaced. In the shower cubicle there is green moss, again as in the photo. The taps move. The water flow is irregular, I guess it depends on whether other taps on the lower floors are open or not. Hot water only exists if there is sufficient pressure, and the pressure is definitely not sufficient. The aforementioned breakfast in a basket, on a cold December morning, was freezing, and consisted of a baguette, two croissants, two mandarins, two sticks of expired butter, two small pieces of cheese, two jars of yogurt, two tubs of Nutella and cured meats that made the room smelly. All this for €40. The parking space, at €20, does not exist. The door is very narrow, the stalls are even worse and there is no room to manoeuvre. With cars over four and a half meters it is better to leave it alone. The stairwell is scary, with temperatures close to zero. The room's ancient beams are full of nails and spikes. Objectively, the beams and stairs in these rooms are dangerous. This isn't the worst place I've slept in my life, but claiming this is a five-star hotel is laughable. Obviously it's not funny to anyone who's been there. I wrote a review here and one on Booking, I want to see if these thieves have the courage to reply something. I'll leave some photos.

It is false that this structure is a hotel, much less a five-star one, but not even an apartment hotel, because the essential requirements for it to be defined as such are missing, i.e. the reception service, breakfast and common areas. There is never any staff in the facility at set times. In fact, on the day of arrival from 8 in the morning they begin to send a large quantity of email and text messages to the guest to ask exactly what time they will arrive and to try to sell the breakfast basket for €15, which would be left facing the room; they also expect to be called 15 minutes before arrival because they specifically come only those few minutes to collect the payment of the tourist tax, the breakfast basket, to open the courtyard for those who want to park and the room. My room - which was an attic divided into two parts by an absurd and probably irregular wooden beam that descended from the ceiling to a height of 1.5 meters from the ground - had a sink with a manhole cover that didn't open and was cold because the air conditioner had not been turned on before. Furthermore, there are no indoor common places, not even a chair to lean on, but only a few tables and chairs outdoors, without any breakfast or bar service. Furthermore, upon my return home, opening the suitcase that I had locked in their room, I realized that I had left the cell phone charger that I had used that night there: needless to say, the maid found nothing... In conclusion, how anyone can check on the internet, as the structure is in fact a guest house (even if they have a small kitchenette) the cost - which starts from around €100 per night plus possibly €15 for the basket of things for breakfast and €20 for parking in the courtyard which can essentially be used by small vehicles - it is also high compared to both real 4* hotels and guest houses in Troyes
