Mannings Hotel

Very well located right in the centre of Truro. Very polite and efficient staff. The most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in for years!

The place was clean. The staff was helpful and accomodating. From reception to restaurant. However, i can hear footsteps from the hallway beacause they have wooden floors although it has carpet.

Very friendly & helpful staff in this gem of an independent hotel. We booked “date night” and found it incredible value for money. Our apartment in the annex was spotless, comfortable & well appointed. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast the following morning. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Truro.

Liked: A substantial, cosy & characterful, somewhat 'creaky', historic Inn. The location is IDEAL for Truro Centre, literally just a 1 minute stroll to the heart of shopping and right on Lemon Quay. The availability of secure free parking is also a major bonus. The staff were helpful, and the older ladies serving at Breakfast were so very cheery & welcoming. Room was comfortable enough, with aircon available on the 3rd floor (only). Clean and functional bathroom. Disliked: It wasn't ideal to discover that our room was on the 3rd floor - and the hotel has *no lift* (Grade 2 Listed), since my wife currently has a dodgy knee - but this was entirely MY fault for not checking at the time of booking (We probably should have queried whether anything lower was available at check-in, but hey-ho.) We were somewhat surprised to learn that any cooked items were charged in addition to the continental breakfast included in the room rate - which took the edge off our breakfast experience a little. A really hearty breakfast is an easy way for Hotels to differentiate their service in a cost-effective manner, so we felt that this was a strategic mis-step at Mannings. We didn't eat at the Hotel otherwise, but menu looked good.

This is an excellent hotel situated in the middle of town and within a heritage listed building, The rooms are larger than I expected for such a building. They are adequate and comfortable for guests. The furnishings are excellent and the daily housekeeping right up to standard. The bathroom is reasonably large. A continental breakfast is included and a hot plate can be provided on request for a price. There is no lift in the building which may cause some people difficulty although staff are available to provide assistance. I was on the top floor which required 56 steps from reception. There was a good view over the rooftops including part of a Brunelian viaduct used by the railway. I would always stay here again. The provision of a pickup/delivery service by a dry cleaning/laundry service would be of considerable benefit to guests.

What a lovely hotel in the centre of Truro. The food in the restaurant is excellent but there is no doubt about it, the excellent friendly staff make you so welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Great place for a coffee and a short meeting. Really nice part of town. Great atmosphere and lovely staff who looked after a group of us for a couple of hours. Would definitely return to stay here for a break rather than a business visit. Recommended
