Tsukubasan Keisei Hotel

The room is very large, with views of Mount Tsukuba and the city in the distance. There's a hot spring downstairs, or you can soak in the water in your room – the hot spring water comes from downstairs!

Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion and absolutely delicious. The open-air bath was neither too hot nor too cold, allowing for a very relaxing soak. The facilities are a bit dated, but clean and not at all unpleasant. It's a short walk to the Tsukuba Mountain trailhead and the ropeway station.

The facility was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and responded to our questions and requests attentively, making for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the hot springs and the view from the window.

A panoramic view of the Kanto Plain. I was thrilled to see Fuji in the sunset. The challenge of Mount Tsukuba, the final of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, was a great success. This hotel allows you to enjoy Mount Tsukuba to the fullest, even without climbing it. The hot springs are great too. A hot spring after descending the mountain is the best. You can stay there from 6am. After soaking in the hot springs, you'll have plenty of time to get ready to go home.

As a hotel situated atop a mountain, the views are even better. Please note that if you are driving, the parking machines at the entrance stop dispensing cards at 9 AM, so you should plan your itinerary in advance.

The night view from our room was so beautiful and relaxing. At around 5:30 in the morning, a sea of ​​clouds streamed in from the left side of our room window, which was also so beautiful that I couldn't help but take a video on my smartphone. We were looking forward to the breakfast included in our one-night stay plan, and it was even more delicious than we expected. We were satisfied with the self-service coffee, milk, and orange juice, which we refilled multiple times... and rice and miso soup were also available for refills.
