Hotels near Temple of Doom (Cenote Esqueleto), Tulum

Beautiful boutique hotel with a kind team of workers! It feels like a little hidden gem tucked away off the beaten path. This hotel was my favorite part of my trip! Nicole at the front desk was very welcoming! The size of their suites is very generous and it's nice to have the space to spread out and relax. I loved having a full-sized kitchen area and they provide you with utensils, cookware, dishes, and everything you need to feel at home. The bed was on the firm side but very comfortable and it was nice to have separate air conditioning units in the bedroom and living room. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my breakfast was included each morning because I booked directly on their website. At the time I'm writing this taxis into centro town were around $200 - $300 pesos from this area and a taxi into the hotel zone ran around $40 - $50 US. I would absolutely come back!

The price is a bit expensive. Good location. It's convenient for eating and shopping around. The room is big. Night life is abundant. It's also very convenient to get to the station. I will choose to stay here again when I go to Cancun in the future.

Great place with a great location. Right on the road to the beach and yet very close to the city centre. Staff are very very helpful polite and professional. Rooms are big and clean! We stayed 2 nights and decided to extend for another night. The restaurant on premises has excellent food. We've ordered ceviche everywhere we went on our 3 week trip in Mexico and this was top 3! Good value for money too. Our server Carlos at the restaurant was amazing. Very good energy and super attentive. We highly rate this place 👌🏻

Location: We stayed at una vida for my mums birthday in February. I was a bit apprehensive initially as I knew the hotel wasn’t close to the hotel zone and main touristy areas and was having second thoughts about the location. Once arriving however, I realised I 100% made the right decision. While not close to the hotel zone, the location is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing and quiet holiday ( and not looking to go to the beach every single day!). You can easily walk into town ( 15mins) to get to the shops and restaurants and the beach is a 20 min drive. It is a bit expensive for a taxi (600 pesos/ 30gbp one way) but we were prepared to pay this since we didn’t go to the beach every day and much preferred the location of our hotel. The hotel kindly arranged taxis for us whenever I asked. Food: The food was delicious at the hotel. I did find some dishes slightly salty but this wasn’t a major issue. While breakfast was included with our stay, this only comprised of 3/4 dishes from the entire breakfast menu. This was fine at first but since we were staying for 7 days, it did get a bit boring and repetitive so we began paying for dishes from the rest of the menu. We went to the sister hotel ( less than a min walk) for drinks which were really tasty. Staff: All the staff were super friendly but a massive shout out to Fer who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. He was so friendly and always had a smile on his face. He gave us some great recommendations on places to go and some great tips/advice too. He also arranged an excursion for us and always messaged me on WhatsApp to keep me informed throughout our stay. Fer definitely made our stay here even better! Room: We stayed in a one-bedroom room ( 3 adults). The room had plenty of space for us all - it included a room with a big double bed and balcony and then a kitchen/ living area with a smaller sofa bed. There was another balcony here and a stove, fridge and table. I loved how spacious the rooms were! Pool: There were two pools we could access, one at una Vida and one at bardo the sister hotel. While the pool at bardo was bigger I found the one at una Vida was always much warmer. Towels are provided and there’s plenty of day beds to sit around and relax.

I had a lovely stay at Siwa hotel and enjoyed the spa facilities while I was there. While at the hotel I had a massage of 60 minutes that included a relaxing circuit with sauna, steam and jacuzzi which was super relaxing. The treatments were done by Montserrati which was super attentive and helpful while I was at the spa.

Highly recommend room #21! The breeze on the deck made the temperature perfect all day, all night, all week! If the cushion on the patio furniture was more comfortable I would have slept outside every night! Bed was comfortable. A/C worked good….we had to shut it off at night cause it got too cold. The staff was friendly. They have a Nesspresso maker in the room. Their Mojitos were the best of all the places we tried…and their prices were the most reasonable. The included breakfast was perfect for us. We like to stay in different places when we travel but would certainly stay here again!

We had an overall wonderful experience for our 7 days spent at Hotelito Azul! We went with another couple and each stayed in the Oceanfront Suites (we were above them, they were ground level). The rooms were clean and spacious. Somewhat limited storage for clothes but we made the best of the shelving/hanging unit provided. The shower is a dream. The maid service cleaned our room daily and did a wonderful job! We loved the treats left on our pillows each day. AC was yours to control. One challenge we faced that would have a simple fix was the lack of rugs in the room. You’re walking through sand to get to your room and yes, there’s a bucket of water to rinse before entering however we were desperate for a small outdoor rug or just something at either the sides or foot of the bed to brush off sand before getting in bed. Interestingly, our friends downstairs had an awesome runner at the foot of their bed so maybe just consistency with that would make a huge difference! You wake to a cute basket with coffee each morning and they will refill your drinking water as much as you need it in the room. We can’t say enough good things about the staff. You communicate to them through What’sApp which offered quick responses to any questions or concerns or when ordering food/drink. Larissa, the concierge was WONDERFUL. She welcomed us every day and made us feel right at home and taken care of during our stay. She helped fill out trip with wonderful experiences whether it be tours, great local spots for food/drink or logistics. We rented scooters from the hotel the majority of our vacation days and it was well worth it. We did find the prices just across the street were cheaper however we liked the convenience of renting through the hotel. The food and drink at the hotel is all delicious, although we quickly learned that eating and drinking on the beach does get expensive, so we chose wisely when/how much we ate at the hotel. This just comes with the location. The physical location of the hotel is ideal because it isn’t too far down into the beach strip, which traffic became pretty bad the further you drove in. The aesthetic and details of the hotel are perfect for making you feel like you’re living in a whimsical jungle. FYI to all looking to stay on the beach in Tulum, during April-November or so, Tulum gets a massive amount of seaweed that makes it nearly impossible to swim in the ocean. The hotels, including Hotelito Azul, do their best to remove as much seaweed from the beach as possible, but man, is it an uphill battle. This limited our ability to sit out on the beach unfortunately, because the only relief from the heat was the outdoor shower. Which, again, is lovely, but not the ocean. Luckily, Tulum has so many other wonderful things to do that we did not feel this impacted our trip in any significant way. Those that travel during the better months have a lovely beachfront area to look forward to at Hotelito Azul. All in all, we loved our stay at this hotel and look forward to returning in the future! We had a great time! Plenty of activities to do in plenty of things to see oh just a wonderful location. My only complaint is I was in Kassav four and the ice machine was never repaired the week I was there. I have to make that statement because it’s such an inconvenience to go to the other castles or qualifies so it’s all a complaint,
