We travel a LOT. I've always liked Motel 6 for a quick night's stay for their value, and a clean no-frills room, BUT the photos for the Motel 6 located at 1340 N. State St. in Ukiah, CA look NOTHING like they are represented on Trip Advisor, Travelocity or the Motel 6 website. This hotel is downright BAD, not to mention it is NOT SAFE. Upon arrival.... * There was feces on the entry-way walkway, sidewalk and surrounding grounds. * The room was infested with several different types of insects ALL OVER THE ROOM, including cockroaches, flies, and other bugs on the bed, walls, linens, bathroom, tub and shower curtain. * The room's window screens had been kicked out and ripped. * The room floor was buckled * There were no lamps in the room, only the canned ceiling lights. * The room smelled of urine. * There were multiple cigarette burns on the bathtub, chair and other locations around the room. * Homeless people hanging out on property, noisy, people frequently coming & going to other rooms. * Property is not safe or secure. There were multiple "lookouts", hanging on the balcony at our arrival time around 10 p.m .(groups of two men at each end and middle of the balcony casing the cars as they came in. We are not naive travelers, and recognized these thought to be guys checking out the cars, drivers & contents as they came in). As my family was driving a truck with a tool box, we felt our truck was not safe in the lot and would've been broken into during the night. * Were concerned for our safety, even in the room. WE DID NOT STAY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR ANYONE. We went to another hotel and requested a refund from Motel 6. We are currently dealing with a very LONG and complicated refund process through online booking agency, hotel and corporate Motel 6 office. After speaking with locals during breakfast the next morning, we were informed that this hotel has the reputation for housing homeless and activity with ************ and *****. The room was prepaid through online booking agency, but we were not asked to show any ID, fill out any paperwork, give any vehicle info, etc. We feel that is was not safe. Definitely filthy. Definitely sketchy. You can do better.
