We’ve just returned from another incredible stay at Why House, this time celebrating a very dear friend’s 60th birthday with a group of other friends. In short, we couldn't have wished for a more perfect experience. We've stayed at Why before so we knew what to expect and once again, Henrietta and her amazing team managed to exceed our expectations in every way! Our 8 night stay was filled with outstanding food, first class entertainment, and, as always, the warmest and friendliest service you could wish for. The team at Why House is simply exceptional; attentive, kind, and always ready with a smile. They make you feel like part of the family and their attention to detail is second to none. The setting was as stunning as ever - the lush gardens, the beutifully refurbished pool and the peaceful atmosphere make it the ideal place to unwind and celebrate. The food was consistently excellent, with the kitchen continuing to impress us with their culinary talents. Every meal was a delight! Why House holds a very special place in our hearts, which is why we keep coming back. It provides the perfect combination of relaxation, luxury, and warmth, all just a stone’s throw from the beach and a tuk-tuk ride from Galle Fort. Whether you’re looking for a quiet escape or a place to celebrate with friends, Why House never disappoints. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Where do I start… from the moment we arrived at Why House, it felt like a little sanctuary after the long drive from the Hills, and the perfect destination for the rest of our holiday. Henrietta greeted us like family and made us feel so welcome and relaxed. All the staff were wonderful and especially fantastic with our 9 month baby… always keen to give her a cuddle! Our room (room 1) was beautiful and a great setup for a family, with a separate living area and huge bathroom. The food was so fantastic that we only ate out once and were disappointed when we did, as it didn’t live up to the Why House cuisine. We loved the fact that we could put our daughter to bed and have a relaxed dinner with the baby monitor stretching to the dining room and bar! The pool area is gorgeous and we enjoyed aqua aerobics on 2 occasions which was great fun. Roshan the Why House tuk tuk driver was brilliant and it was so handy to have him onsite to take us to the beach and into Galle Fort. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Why House, and especially to those with children wanting a relaxed holiday, you won’t regret it! Why House Hotel was exceptional! Set in beautiful gardens with peacocks roaming, a gorgeous pool, stunning rooms with super comfy beds, very attentive staff, delicious food and the entertainment put on was spectacular. We could even ring a little bell for our morning tea to be bought to us in our room before breakfast! I would highly recommend it.

This is my favourite place on earth. Everything about Why House is perfect - delicious food, beautiful gardens, luxurious rooms but above all, the kindest staff. Henrietta, the hostess with the mostest, clearly loves and values her team and engrains in them a sense of 'nothing is too much trouble'. Every time we visit (trip number 5) we meet interesting people, many of whom have become friends we see regularly back in the UK. Why House is situated in a tropical oasis only a 5 minute drive from some of the most stunning beaches on earth. The charm and hospitality of these amazing setting leaves you feeling cosy and homely whilst enjoying the highest end of luxury accommodation. Whether you want to enjoy Aquahit and yoga or you want to do nothing more than laze by the beautiful (and huge) pool your needs are always met. With the central alfresco pavilion serving as the dining area and living room space, there is always something delicious to eat and drink and the staff are AMAZING. I could not recommend this hotel enough, run by the enormously welcoming and supportive manager Hen Cottam. This is my favourite hotel for good reason and will serve as a perfect spot to base whilst exploring the Galle area. Families are also just as welcome as couples or bigger groups so there is something for everyone!

Why House is the most fantastic Boutique Hotel which we have now visited 3 times. The peaceful, immaculate surroundings have easy access by Tuk Tuk to Galle and nearby beaches. Yoga and massages are available on site as well as a fully equipped gym. It’s only two hours from Colombo airport with the transfers organised by Why House in roomy, air conditioned cars/mini bus. At all times we received first class service from the attentive team, the food was spectacular and our group were treated to some fabulous themed party evenings. We highly recommend Why House.

Stayed at Why House for a week but wish it had been longer! Plenty to explore in the area: Galle Fort is a unique kaleidoscope of history, and there are gorgeous beaches everywhere. But the real treasure is Why House itself: Henrietta, Sanath and the welcoming staff are endlessly helpful. The food is wonderful, the pool gorgeous, and the rooms are generous and well-appointed.

Why House has the WOW factor, a beautiful hotel with luxurious rooms, surrounded by a stunning garden set the scene. It is Henrietta and her ever attentive and happy staff that make this a truly 5* experience. The airport to hotel transfer travel time was less than 2 hours with the new motorway reducing the journey time by half. Galle has lots of interesting history and shops to visit. The beaches are in easy reach and the sunsets not to be missed. But nothing beats the heavenly oasis of Why House, accompanied by superb staff delivering the best service. The food is exceptional. Henrietta and her team cover off your every need and are so welcoming. Making everything so much fun (from visiting tea plantations, lunch and cricket at Tanamara, bike rides, massages, aqua fitness), nothing is too much trouble. Why House Hotel exceeds all exceptions and is highly recommended. We will return time and time again.

There literally is nothing to fault at Why. NOTHING is too difficult for the ever smiling staff. The food is delicious and excellent standard. The rooms glorious with amazing bathrooms. Tuk Tuks available on demand. Excellent day trip suggestions.
