The Island View House is 10 minutes from Upington Airport, and made for a convenient stopover on my way to Kgalagadi. The hosts, Eben and Anse, were very welcoming. They were able to fetch me from the airport and return me the next day. The rooms were spacious and had everything I needed and they are right on the river with terrific birding. For an extra fee, I was even able to get laundry done. They have a sweet doggie and the included breakfast was filling. The neighborhood can be a bit noisy, but proximity to shops and restaurants is good.
