Hotels near Inca City of Machu Picchu, Urubamba

The river view was the most spectacular I’ve seen. Perfect location to explore machu pichu. Staff met us at rail station. Elmer couldn’t have been more helpful and polite . The beds were comfortable, we were provided with complimentary water. Tea , coffee and water were available 24hours

There is a lot of choice in Aguas Calientes and I chose the Amakonkay Machu Picchu based on the location in Aguas Calientes and the price compared to other accommodation and it was a great little place to stay for three nights. The location is perfect with shops and restaurants nearby, the bus stop to Machu Picchu at the end of the alleyway and the main square just around the corner. It is a short walk from the train station and the hotel folks are waiting for you with your name on a board. A clean and comfortable room and I had some of the best nights sleep at the hotel while touring Peru. The breakfast was large and tasty with half a huge avocado, ham, cheese, scrambled egg, breads, juice, etc. and while in Peru the breakfasts here were some of the best. The staff were really friendly and helpful and given the location, price , rooms and breakfast this makes for a good base in Aguas Calientes.

tldr: staff won’t deal with unruly guests - no security staff, won’t call the police. this hotel looks fine on the surface. it is clean and modern in appearance. however looks don’t make up for lack of safety and security. We did not feel safe at this hotel as there are no staff that will deal with guests that are fighting, yelling, kicking walls and banging doors violently. We are a family of four and had 2 rooms on the same floor but at opposite ends of the floor. our 2 teen daughters were in one room, myself and my husband in the other. the room immediately next to our daughters room had some very scary Americans staying in it. they were yelling and fighting with each other. they were banging on the walls and slamming doors, yelling obscenities and physically fighting. our daughters were very scared. i went to the reception and asked if security could deal with the situation because my children feared for their safety. the staff said there was no security and that no one on staff would go and investigate what was happening, nor would they call the police. I told the staff over and over that we were afraid of these other guests and that we did not feel safe. The staff just kept saying it wasn’t their problem. i asked the staff if my daughters could be moved to another room but the hotel was sold out. i asked if they could bring cots or air mattresses in so the girls at least didn’t have to sleep on the floor but these were not available. the hotel refused to give us any extra blankets or pillows. the girls ended up sleeping on the hard tile floor of our room for safety. the next day the manager apologized for the experience and gave us a free lunch but that was too little too late. i recommend avoiding this hotel as they will not take care of their guests when there is a genuine safety concern. Everywhere else we went in Peru the people were wonderful. i suspect because this hotel has a garanted flow of income being located in Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes) and not likely to have many repeat customers that they just don’t care about their guests.

Hotel Luz Garden was great! The staff treated us like family and were very nice! They came by each night to see what time we wanted breakfast and even let us stay in our room a little later so we didn't have to set around town waiting for or train. I will definitely stay here again.

The rooms are small but well appointed. They are very helpful but only speak Spanish. We stayed in a room we were quoted as 40 USD but I paid in Soles. The conversion was fair. There is a standard charge 5 percent to use your credit card. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful but June nights are cold by the river and there was no heater remaining when we asked. The bathroom was nice with a big shower and beautiful sink. Just had to step up to get from the room to the bath. Pics are from AFTER we used the room. It was clean and made up when we arrived. Meant for one but big enough for 2 people. I didnt find it noisy and the upstairs patio was a great place to rest after checkout before the train. Wifi was solid and the staff had great advice! Great It location. It was midway to the hot spring and the train. In the morning away from the lines but direct path and very ose to the bus to Machu Picchu.

The staff at this hotel are great! The hotel overlooks the Andes and the grounds themselves have beautiful gardens. The room that we had was quite large with beautiful views of the mountains. This was supposed to be a 4 star, but I would say more of a 3 star. The beds were very uncomfortable and the bathrooms pretty tired. The buffet breakfast was pretty good and one morning we left quite early and they packed us a breakfast which was massive. We ate it for 3 days. This hotel also has a restaurant which is handy at the end of a long day. The food was only average, however the staff were lovely.

Amazing place in Urubamba! I rested here for two nights and wouldn’t wish for anything more. The room was very comfortable with big bed, tall ceilings, hot shower and two heathers. Breakfast was super yummy and dinner was even better ! Highly recommend to stay here if you are traveling through Sacred Valley (Pisac doesn’t have nice hotels like this and is only 30 min away)

This is such a peaceful lodge. There were 3 vendors in the courtyard selling Peruvian items and artwork. There was also a woman weaving the Peruvian cloth. There are a couple of alpacas on the property that they move around the grounds. We had some leftovers from lunch and a worker was so gracious by heating it up for us and providing silverware. The breakfast is awesome. Just walking around the grounds was nice and relaxing. The room was very clean and nice as well. We were able to leave our luggage here since you are not allowed to take more than 1 backpack on the train to Machu Picchu.
