Hotels near Utrecht Maliebaan Station, Utrecht

Nice hotel, decent rates, good bathroom, but really just lacking in information. First off, the hotel is in a mall, and there’s no indication of which doors are open after the mall closes and which aren’t. Google Maps is unaware of that, so if you’re relying on that or a similar service to get you back to the hotel, be aware that will not work, and employees will not provide you with useful information about this unless you ask. For the record, I eventually managed to enter via Catharinje Esplanade. Second, maybe it’s because I visited on a holiday, but there was no front desk or room service late at night, which would be totally fine IF that communication were provided. But there was no indication whatsoever that the supposedly 24 hour room service was not actually 24 hours. Again, certainly don’t begrudge employees a night off. But *management* needs to do a much better job communicating what services are or are not available and when. Don’t promise something your employees can’t deliver. If management would just set realistic expectations and provide a little more useful information, this would be a nice hotel.

I stayed at the Moxy as part of a Leger Holidays tour for 4 nights, breakfast included. The room was modern and clean with plenary of natural light and a good view over the canal. I understand the concept, but for more than a nights stay, I missed the use of a wardrobe, and due to the sliding bathroom door, it was difficult to hang towels anywhere. The room was cleaned with fresh towels provided daily. Was great to have a good quality hairdryer too. There is an ironing room in each floor. Breakfast was a little disappointing, although there is a continental selection available, the hot food was heated up rather than fresh (or so it appeared). There was only one coffee and one juice machine, which meant queues or missing out on a hot drink to start the day, especially as part of a coach party as everyone has breakfast around the same time. Seating also seemed a little limited for the size of the hotel. The hotel is very well located, within an hour or all our excursions, and only 5-10 minutes walk to a selection of restaurants and bars for the evening (only bar snacks available at hotel). It is also only a short taxi ride into the city.

First and foremost, this is NOT the review I was planning to write. Everything was very nice until the last day of my stay. One day before my check-out, I charged all my electronic devices, left cables on my bed and went to the conference. Upon return, I saw the room cleaned but noticed only at night that my Apple Watch cable disappeared. I searched everywhere & couldn’t find it. Everything else was there (documents, jewellery etc.). Being 100% sure the cable was on my bed BEFORE room cleaning, I spent 2 hours clarifying the issue with staff in the morning. The most ‘exciting’ things happened at the reception. I was offered to be contacted in case the cable is found. I explained that I’m not satisfied with that and asked for the management. A young woman representing the management started our conversation defining the problem as “you’ve LOST your cable” (NO, I HAVEN’T “LOST” my cable, I LEFT IT ON MY BED, NOT the same). She continued accusing me, indicating it’s actually all my fault: - I probably “lost the cable somewhere else, maybe it’ll be found in the hotel”, - I “should have put my stuff in the safe” (MAYBE. But even if I had done it, it would NOT have crossed my mind to put an Apple Watch cable in the SAFE! Maybe I should have put my whole suitcase in the small safe as nothing is safe in this hotel anyway?!) - When I asked for compensation of the cable cost (not so cheap - 40 Euro), she reacted “but do you suggest that someone STOLE your cable?”. I responded I don’t suggest that but I don’t think it’s fair that I left the cable in the room, don’t find it anymore and must pay for it from my own pocket… - “Who knows what happened in the room, not sure the cable was there at all” - so the hotel won’t compensate the loss. Very convenient to say to avoid any responsibility, maybe it’s not the first time when it happens? Overall, I find the way this management staff member spoke to me outrageous & unacceptable. I hope it’s not hotel’s policy to deal with such issues like that.

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com using my tesco reward points. So I only had to pay taxes. I stayed from Wed-Mon in the middle of July. I was sent the long way around to this hotel by google maps but when I said to the receptionist that I wouldn’t be able to walk that way at night she corrected me and it was only a short climb up the steps to the train station. I arrived at 11am and was just expecting to use the toilet and leave my luggage. But Estella said my room was ready and so I went straight up to the 9 floor. My room was right over the train lines but with the windows shut you did not hear them. A huge bed, lovely shower and a fridge. The bed was very comfortable. I needed to get to De Meern to see friends and Estella pointed me in the right direction for a lovely walk which took 60 minutes in the lovely countryside. Breakfast was great and and even though the hotel was full there were no queues for breakfast. Throughout my stay all staff were kind and polite. My only negatives and they are so small was when I asked for more regular coffee reception didn’t have again and the cup holder on the ice machine was nearly always empty. Overall I have had a excellent stay and I will be back.

from friendly employees to excellent location and beautiful design, the Park Plaza Hotel will be again our choice in our next trip. We enjoyed the breakfast, the comfortable and king sized bed and the well organized hotel. I am mentioning twice the polite and smiling employees!

Nice hotel, location near at utrecht central station and shopping center. Bed comfortable with wide room. Will come again in this hotel.

Utrecht is not cheap especially hotels near the centraal and old town,but Ibis which is locateda few minutes from centraal offer nice room and good price. Once you arrive at Utrecht Centraal, take bus number 5 from platform D. The hotel is just two stops from Centraal. As this hotel located beside a big road,then some rooms will experience traffic noise,but the noise insulation is quite good except we open the window for some fresh air. The lobby is nice, not too many sitting area, beside the lobby is a huge breakfast room. Surrounding hotel no restaurants or minimarket,so be prepared if you want to return hotel. The breakfast was very good and nice. Enjoy the hot meals and good coffee. Absolutely will return to stay at Ibis Utrecht, location and price make it all.

Hotel DeBlend is located across from the headquarters of Douwe egberts in a semi-industrial area of town, but was very quiet and very convenient. The air conditioning is a terrible inconvenience just like it appears to be in every other European hotel except for the hunfelt. You are not actually in control of the temperature of your room it just makes it a little more cool for a little more warm. You don't have any real control. We found it got a bit warm at night. It is a primarily self-service hotel, but the instances where we required human assistance, the staff were very kind and accommodating. The kitchen is very convenient feature for anyone staying more than a few days. We highly recommend 2L DeBlend.

Modern hotel in a forestry environment. We had 1 night here after a day out in Utrecht and a visit to the pyramid of Austerlitz. Drive a little bit by car to the reception to hear where you stay. The area is located in several buildings. Buildings 8 and 9 include modern luxury hotel rooms. The rooms are equipped with a large window from floor to ceiling and over the width of the room. It seems like you are out again. Excellent bed, a bank with ethernet/usb connections, TV with Chrome cast. Just get used to, a toilet without door. A bath with shower, disadvantage if you are a little bad at your leg. Otherwise, this also applies to reaching the rooms (per stairs for all rooms). The room also has a water cooker, if you want to make a cup of coffee or tea. Breakfast is in another location, so walk a minute. If it rains, there are several places available paraplus. Excellent quality and for anyone wants.
