Costa Riviera Hotel

Both the hotel and restaurant staff were incredibly service-minded, making my stay very pleasant. Many of the staff were approachable and friendly, so if you appreciate warm, personalized service, you'll likely find this hotel particularly comfortable. The breakfast primarily featured Indian dishes, which I found interesting and added to the enjoyment of my stay. However, the taste might be a bit divisive for Japanese palates. The butter chicken curry I had for dinner was also very spicy, with an authentic Indian flavor. Personally, I find that the strong spice profile in Indian butter chicken curry makes it difficult to discern subtle flavor differences; I haven't noticed much variation between different establishments. The spices are always prominent, giving it the impression of a completely different dish from Japanese curry. Therefore, I couldn't really perceive any significant differences even when trying popular spots. If food is a high priority for you, other reviews that specifically detail flavor nuances might be more helpful than my observations. This food is probably better suited for those who prefer authentic, spice-focused flavors rather than expecting something similar to Japanese curry. During my stay, someone in the city center, who claimed to be friends with a famous Japanese YouTuber and spoke fluent Japanese, guided me to a silk shop and Niyati Cafe, and from there, I also tried an Indian massage. It cost 5,000 rupees for 30 minutes, but the treatment mainly involved light surface rubbing, and I personally didn't feel it was effective enough. In contrast, the hotel's SPA, from what I recall, cost around 5,600 to 8,000 rupees for 1-2 hours. While my memory of the exact price might be slightly off, based on my experience, I believe using the hotel's SPA would have been more satisfying than the city massage. This was a slight regret of my stay. Overall, this hotel is a good match for those who enjoy warm service and authentic Indian cuisine. However, since the food and SPA experiences might differ from Japanese expectations, it's particularly recommended for those who appreciate unique Indian flavors and services.
