Location- 3 star. This is right on Assi Chauk so location is great. But it is also on the road and rooms are not sound proof so very difficult to sleep at night. Ear plugs done help. Staff- 3 star courteous hotel staff. But they charged us more than double for sight seeing bookings. When we reached the ghats realised the actual price was way lower than what we paid Hotel- Clean rooms but the bathroom is too small. Overall okay

It was a clean and comfortable hotel with a basic shower. It is situated on a busy street so noisy but with good access to the major sites. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast pancakes are nice.

First the positives. And there are several. The staff. There’s three lads running this small five room hotel and a joining cafe (where you breakfast). The manager and two chaps reporting to him. The manager and his staff are some of the nicest people I’ve met. Warm, interested, helpful. They are clearly hardworking too - as are many Indians - and that work ethic extends to their customer service. A real highlight of my stay. The location. Varanasi is basically a row of ghats (terraces) on the bank of the Ganga river. To see Varanasi means traversing those ghats from one way or another. The hotel is just to the side of Assi ghat and Assi ghat is basically the southernmost visited and arguably the main ghat of them all. All roads lead to Assi ghat basically and if you stay here, you couldn’t be more perfectly positioned in Varanasi. There’s some decent eating spots within a 5 - 7 min walk. If you want to walk down to the Assi Ghat on the river, then that will take you around a minute or two to do so. If you want to walk north towards the main shopping / eating areas then you follow the road straight up. Tuk tuk to and from the hotel are next to nothing as you are so well positioned. There’s an ATM next door too plus a convenience store as well more like we have (or had) in the UK and often owned and operated by Indians. I visited there most days and bought roll on deodorant, bounty bars and water. Handy to have that and it’s ran by a super helpful young woman. The room I was in room 3. That means I was on the 3rd floor. There’s only one room on each of the five floors. It’s a mad design. You have a separate and in many ways ‘useless’ sitting room, but that extra space means your case / cases can be kept in there and out of your room. There’s also a large fridge and a two seater sofa. The bedroom is a decent size. Bed was comfortable. Pillows good. Towels clean and plenty full. The only TV I watched in India with english films. The AC is a beast. The bathroom sums India up. You enter. You have a sink then at the other end, the brown well. In between they have plumed in a shower head. It all works. Good, hot, powerful water supply. But it means once you shower, 90 % of the bathroom floor is wet. If say you then needed to use the brown well, you’d have to cross a wet floor. I worked around this by closing the door, putting the extractor fan on full and letting the fresh and rapidly moving air dry the floor. Takes 30 mins. Bingo! Dry floor at the same time as killing the planet. Breakfast You breakfast in the adjoining cafe. Same team. The coffee is very good here. As is the scrambled egg with ‘english’ toast [my use of the word in conversation with the staff]. So well seasoned and so good. There’s a menu with omelette and other stuff in there but I didn’t try other items. Some things to be aware of. The location. The hotel is on the main road. That means considerable and constant noise from the road.

I had a wonderful stay at ViaVaranasi, with a special mention for their exceptional manager, Manish. The hotel provided a clean and comfortable room, and Manish dedication to guest satisfaction and her efforts to foster a sense of community among guests made the experience truly memorable. Highly recommended! Thanks

Via Varanasi is one of the best Place I've come across in my travel experiences. From Safety, Comfort, Rooms quality to Service and management, everything is greatly taken care of. The Hosts - Manish & Ajay make sure your stay is comfortable. I initially booked for 1Night but ended up extending my stay for 5Nights. Even though it was my Solo Trip, I never felt lonely at this place. Made great new friends and memories. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Via Varanasi and would surely stay back next time I visit Varanasi. I recommend this to all travelers to book this place without second thoughts. The location from the Hotel and nearby Ganga Ghat Main Street is perfect. Cafe Cafe both of which serve amazing food. Thanks Manish & Ajay at Via Varanasi, I had an amazing trip. Attaching some pics for your reference. Cheers!

We went as a family of 7 members to spend 9 nights in Benares. We chose this hotel because my daughter had stayed there in 2019 and enjoyed her stay so much that she recommended it highly. Unfortunately, either the service has deteriorated since then or the hotel is simply not geared up for senior citizens and/or pilgrims. First the good part: the rooms are clean and neat, and the staff, though inexperienced and improperly trained, do try their best in the absence of adequate support from the owner. The hotel is well situated right at Assi Ghat. Now the deficiencies: 1. One of the rooms was supposed to be "triple occupancy" which the owner acknowledged. However, the rooms were too small for triple occupancy, even those described as "mini-suites" which were anything but. 2. We reached at 11:00 in the night and were aghast to see that for the 3rd bed, the staff put a 3" high mattress on the ground and expected one of us to get down on it. The owner knew that our group was of elderly people with the youngest aged 72. None of us could get down to the floor and up again, every night, maybe several times a night! Despite booking weeks in advance and informing him of our group profile, no appropriate arrangements had been made for a foldable bed. After 24 hours of argument, the owner finally got the staff to stack several mattresses one on top of the other to make a makeshift bed which was, at least, usable. 3. We had specifically asked if room service / 24 hour food service was available because 3 of our group were diabetics and one a cancer survivor on a strict diet; we were told by the owner that custom-made food would be available. The tariff was inclusive of breakfast. However, breakfast was available only after 8 am while we needed it earlier because of the diabetics in our group. The owner was also aware that we were coming for temple darshan which is early in the morning, but no provision was made for breakfast or tea early enough for us to reach the temple by 5:30 am for darshan. 3. When we tried to order breakfast later, we realized that for every order we gave, the cook had to run out and buy the specific ingredients for that order from the market. No stock of ingredients was readily available. So much so that when I asked for a slice of lemon for my water, he ran out to buy lemons. The only thing the cook was prepared for (vegetarian) was toast and jam. Tea at 4:30 am (pre-darshan) was undoable for them and the owner's reply was "who has tea at 4:30? You are too demanding!" 4. We also came to know there is no stove in the kitchen. The cook manages only with a microwave oven. 5. Bathwater is not available early in the morning. Part of our group could not go for early morning temple darshan because of no bathwater. Even when three of us fell sick with diarrhea, we had to struggle for water and had to keep complaining to the staff who made us wait for hours before the tanker came in. 6. Coming to the staff -- not enough staff, untraine

This hotel is wel situated in Varanasi. After spending a day in the city, its nice to have a warm shower and a good bed. It s nice that the windows isolate a lot of the constant noise of horns that people in Varanasi have to use constantly ;-) The hotel is just a place to sleep there are no other things like restaurant or lobby. The staf is really helpful in every way. There was a guy who was following a touristic college and he tries really to improve the quality. There are some minor things: there are some really dangerous electrical situation. Our shower was just 35 cm away from a power outlet. Also the power sockets in the room where damaged and dangerous. You see that the hotel is not very old and that there is less overhaul and maintenance, something I think is also part of exploiting a hotel. And the last thing a bed under the stairs for the personnel is not the best marketing tool.

We stayed for a night as we were in Kashi for visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This might be the thinnest hotel in Varanasi. Just 5 rooms max and each floor has only one room. However the rooms are airy with a big living space aswell. The staff is friendly and the location is really good. Assi ghat is walking distance were you can enjoy delicious pizza at pizzeria vatika.
