family run hotel with delicious food and lots of hot water. Excellent guides for learning to x country ski. Amazing location. Beautiful place. Open fires. Ski in and out. Sauna. Yoga. Everything fab. Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

What a fantastic place! We stayed at this hotel with a package from Headwater. It was our first time trying cross country skiing and our package included equipment hire, guiding, all food, one yoga class, use of the sauna and shared living areas with unlimited tea/ coffee. We found the hotel extremely friendly and comfortable. All of the staff were helpful and approachable. The food was varied and excellent. I am a vegetarian and my meals were all extremely tasty and well presented - thank you chefs! Our equipment was all very good with help from the ski store to sort any problems we had. Our guiding and instruction was fantastic - thanks so much to Jane for her excellent coaching, and great guiding and inspiration from Tron and Venka. We were taken on some great routes - the best being our trip up one of the nearby mountains with fabulous views over the surrounding area. We also had plenty of opportunity to explore the trails by ourselves - the area is well signposted and the steeper tracks are well marked on the maps with chevrons. There really is nothing I could fault with our trip and I wouldn’t hesitate to return again in the future. Thanks Venabu Fjellhotel!

We came here annually for a week’s guided cross country skiing from about 2015 until 2020. Looking forward to going back at the weekend. Loads of tracks in different directions from the hotel. Excellent food, guiding and equipment. Love my after ski saunas. Very friendly family run hotel. Huge number of return visitors

We are an older couple with one skier and one who is no longer able to ski. The combination of going out skiing in the morning and walking after lunch worked very well. The atmosphere in the hotel was warm and friendly and the home made food was excellent with many local dishes. After dinner there was live piano music in the cosy lounge with a log fire which we very much enjoyed. The ski hire was first class and with expert advice on waxing. The ski tracks were run up every few days with a machine and the tracks were in good condition. We have stayed at Venabu several times in the winter and also with a group in the summer. Excellent stay every time! We look forward to coming back.

This place was such a positive surprise! Given the relatively low price I was positively surprised by the excellent quality of the food, the variety of facilities and activities on offer. The staff was super friendly and helpful and provided excellent service. We were there on s yoga and riding weekend and we had a fantastic time, I could not recommend this place more! Extra bonus for the cute reception dog comming over for cuddles when you are chilling in the common area

Beautiful, nice houses, equipped with everything you need. Very friendly reception. Very well located to Rondane national park. And visit Dovrefjell, where the musk ox safari is a fun experience. Then you can relax in the sauna in the evening.

We found the room very simple and the price high. We could not eat from the single evening menu because there was gluten in the 3 required dishes. So we had to eat an omelette at 4:30 p.m.
