The room is really clean and has a nice smell, the view was good on the street that I like it. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The location is 5 minutes to San Zakaria place and really good to get around. Every day during 2 days we stayed they cleaned our room. It was a nice hotel with nice guys in the front desk. And I had a comfortable stay during my trip. When we arrived we couldn’t go to the room as their policy was from 2 pm but we arrived 30 minutes earlier. They accepted our baggage and before we back to the hotel they took it to the room. I have to say thank you, what a nice hotel.

Lovely little Venetian hotel with equally lovely staff. Breakfast was simple and the coffee was great. All affordable priced for Venice. The only issue was the level of noise coming from the old floors and stair case. We could only sleep once all other guests had stopped moving around.

My husband and I recently booked a room with a terrace at the Locanda al Leon in Venice for a 3 day stay. On arrival we were greeted warmly and were led across the narrow street to the Ca' Marcella annex. To our surprise, we were led to an airy suite of rooms on the third floor with two terraces, a kitchen, dining table and sitting area with wall-to-wall French doors. We were absolutely delighted with the accommodations. We had a view over the rooftops of Venice and could see the top of the Campanile and parts of St. Mark's as well. With terraces on both sides, we enjoyed both the morning light and the sunset. The rooms were spotless and beautiful. The modern bathroom had good water pressure in the shower and fluffy towels. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. The hotel breakfast cappuchino was especially good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The central location was very close to St Mark's Square and the Palazzo Ducale, and just off a small lively square with shops and restaurants. There was also a bakery steps away with delicious pastries and coffee. The San Zaccharia vaporetto stop is very close, which made it easy to transfer from the airport via Alilaguna, and to use the vaporetto. We enjoyed our stay and will be delighted to return someday. Highly recommended!

Hotel is absolutely filthy. Mold in the bathroom, substances on the wall, stains on the carpet. Incredibly loud at night. Limits towel usage for guests. Probably the dirtiest hotel I have stayed at in twenty years. Would not recommend for families, elderly or anyone that is immunocompromised.

We had a great stay at Locanda al Leon! When we arrived, the front desk person was so friendly. There aren't many elevators in Venice, so there wasn't one at this hotel, but the staff carried the luggage to the room for us. The room was so cute and charming! It really had the Venetian atmosphere. It was right in the middle of many of the attractions in Venice and close to many, many restaurants. The street really quieted down after 9 PM, so we had no issue with any noises while sleeping. This was a great place for us to stay for a few nights, and we would definitely stay here again in the future!

Perfect little hotel few minutes away from main attractions. Tucked in a narrow alley next to the cute little campo. Good local cafe and bakery downstairs and a nice bar just around the corner. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Room on the small side but cosy, comfortable and very clean. Nice bathroom with two sinks ans big shower. Rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy, especially early in the morning when local shops open and late in the evening when people are having fun in surrounding bars but that wasn’t a big issue, certainly not something that would put me off form staying there again. In January the price was great and the hotel was not busy. Overall a great place to stay in Venice!

Freshly renovated hotel. Beautiful period furnishings. Friendly and helpful proprietor, assisted with restaurant recommendations and water taxi reservation to airport. Great central location. European corner shower was tight, but clean. Children shared a 3 person room which was spacious with a loft space. Be prepared for the 3 floor walk up with your luggage, we worked it out by generally going out in the a.m. and only coming back once to sleep in the evening. Great place to stay.

The hotel was in a great central area with restaurants, shops, water ferry, and short walk from San Marco and Palace. We came in late and early and staff accommodated odd times. The shop on the corner does coffee and late night drinks, restaurants in the area stay open till late.

Amazing hotel especially for the price! Right in the middle of the action (most tourist attractions are walkable as is the ferry stop to the other islands). The apartments are furnished with Venetian flair and though the streets are noisy sometimes the soundproofing is very for for a good nights sleep. Our room had two patios with a kitchen, which was a lot of space :)

This hotel is magical and amazing since it makes you experience an ancient Venezian home and has an ambience perfect for a romantic stay or special occasions. Our room look exactly as in the pictures, a beautiful Venezian room with modern amenities, very clean, spacious and very comfortable. The Hotel has a superior location very close to Piazza San Marco, in an alley surrounded by restaurants, cafes, bakery and bars that will make you feel as if you were in a movie. You can reach this hotel relatively easily via Vaporetto from the Santa Lucia Train Station and Venice's Airport. Thanks to James and Marco for making us feel welcomed, helping us with great tips to visit Venezia and for accommodating our requests!

A lovely, friendly hotel, perfectly placed to explore Venice. Our hosts were quick to respond to queries, and check-in was smooth. Marco greeted us and carried our bags to our room. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Loved the hotel. It would be even better if there was facility to make a hot drink at the end of a busy day being a tourist.

The hotel is very confortable with air conditioning and Room No 24 was very large and had a great bathroom with shutters onto a course yard. I could have done with a long mirror in the bedroom and a few more shelves or places to put our toiletries in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and their was a fridge with complementary water. I would recommend you take your own hairdryer, the one provided over heated and had a little power. The shower was good and they do provide shampoo and conditioner. The only problem with this room, I found although quiet through the night, the staff cupboard is right next door to it and the staff use the hallway to prepare breakfast and sort laundry so they are up and about early and wake you up. This hotel is very old and has a lot of stairs so not for the mobility challenged. Great location though and their is a good cafe round the corner for breakfast although they do offer breakfast in the hotel for 10 euro's.

Clean, charming, on a quiet small alley, comfortable, well appointed and maintained. Very welcoming staff, a charming small hotel very near Saint Mark's. Receptionist gives good advice (to find a good local restaurant and the best sites, and to avoid tourist traps). The breakfast is fine, though tables/space are small so you have to inform the reception what time you will take it (it's given in 30 min shifts). Take the vaporetto, don't walk if you have luggage (far from the station).
