I really wanted to like this hotel and was very much looking forward to it. I stayed in the Jr. General Suite costing $500/n. The room was nice. There were ants by the bed and on the entry doorway. Bugs aren’t a huge issue for me, but it wasn’t something I would expect in a hotel presenting itself as 5-star. I never received the bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and fruit bowl promised on their website for the room I reserved. My friend, who had a completely separate reservation and room, did get a bottle of Prosecco (less chocolate and fruit) and was told we needed to share. Mind you the hotel had no awareness we were traveling together until check-in. I was charged for a water taxi inappropriately, however this was resolved by hotel receptionist. Upon checkout the receptionist argued with my friend that she had additional charges and was attempting to charge her. The expenses were attached to my room. Again, we had separate bookings and rooms so I’m not sure why they kept confusing us. I provided feedback directly to the hotel to share my concerns in hopes it would improve the experience for future guests. The hotel staff never acknowledged or took accountability for the things that were promised but not delivered. It was clear the concerns reported did not matter to them. Overall room was nice and staff were kind. The hotel, however, fell short of what they say they will deliver. There are lots of other options for accommodations in Venice. Some of which will offer more for a lower nightly rate. I highly discourage booking this hotel.
