Ticks crawling up the wall on my check out day. Shower drain was very slow & hair that was not mine was left when it drained.

What a terrible stay we had at the Ventura Beach Marriott. From the time we checked in until we checked out it was not an enjoyable stay. We were greeted at the front desk with a moody desk clerk. Nirrell was her name. She’s unfriendly and not accommodating at all. We asked for an upgrade but she didn’t even bother to check if there was one available or not. We are titanium elite members with Marriott and she didn’t even care about that. Our room didn’t have any of the features we asked for. The hotel is noisy. The walls are thin. You hear everyone above you and beside you. The hotel is dated, dingy and extremely dirty. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Good luck if you expect a tasty breakfast. The elevators are old and don’t feel safe. The staff doesn’t want to answer questions or try to accommodate their guests. The night we stayed there was a wedding going on and that’s all the hotel staff cared about. There are homeless people in the area so beware. I would choose another property. Run…don’t walk from this property.

I recently stayed at the Marriott and had a mixed experience, particularly with the night shift at the front desk. During my stay, I observed that some employees working the night shift were not dressed properly and appeared unprofessional. Additionally, I felt that I was treated dismissively because of my appearance, and overheard some negative comments about my partner. This behavior was quite disappointing and not what I expect from a Marriott hotel. On a more positive note, the morning shift staff were very courteous and professional, which was a refreshing change. The room was very clean and well-maintained, and the overall staff during the day were pleasant and helpful. While the daytime experience was good, the issues with the night shift significantly impacted my overall impression of the hotel. I hope management addresses these concerns to ensure all guests receive the high standard of service expected from Marriott.
