During a trip to visit family in the nearby village of Los Gallardos we had two wonderful meals in the restaurant at the Hotel Tikar. The first time was for lunch. We had spinach salad with feta cheese and warm pasta in apple and curry sauce to start, cooked beef and grilled salmon for main, and the sautéed bananas and lemon tart for dessert. We enjoyed the food and hospitality so much that we decided to return the following evening to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The next time round we had grilled asparagus and pasta in four cheese sauce to start, duck leg confit and lamb shank for main and molten chocolate cake and the sautéed bananas for dessert. On both occasions Sean and the team were most welcoming. They were also accommodating in providing food that was suitable for our toddler.

Este hotel está situado en la entrada de Garrucha y cerca de la playa. Es un hotel pequeño, solo seis habitaciones. Las habitaciones tienen dos estancias: una salita con sofá, una mesita y la televisión y una neverita en la que te ponen botellas de agua; y otra con el dormitorio, cama de matrimonio, mesitas de noche y armario; y baño con ducha. Tiene aire acondicionado. Nuestra habitación tenía vistas al patio donde está la piscina. El hotel tiene restaurante donde se puede comer o cenar. También tiene una vinoteca donde se hacen catas de vino. El desayuno es tipo buffet: cafés, zumos, pan para tostadas, algo de bollería, companaje y frutas, suficiente. El hotel tiene también una zona común con sofás. Tiene ascensor (muchos hoteles pequeños a los que he ido, carecen de ascensor). También tiene una pequeña biblioteca, por si durante tu estancia quieres leer algún libro. El personal muy amable, tanto el matrimonio que lo lleva como la chica del desayuno. El hotel muy tranquilo, y con todo lo necesario para pasar unos días de descanso. Volveremos.

Disappointing lunch. Big fan of Sean & Beatriz and this lovely spot but they have clearly got into a comfortable rut . The menu lunchtimes hasn’t changed for years , the world has moved on dramatically.! A La carte the mussels simply the worst ever , dry and tired no taste of the sea. The rest just very boring courses from years ago . Service and ambience impeccable but we were sad that they settled for such mediocrity. We encourage you to lift your game .

Hemos pasado una semana de vacaciones en Julio. Todo a nuestro gusto. El desayuno a primera hora y los baños por la tarde son difícilmente superables La situación es buena. Excelente lugar para descansar y disfrutar. Trato personal inmejorable.

I thoroughly recommend Hotel Tikar, it is an Oasis of tranquility, close to the beach and amenities. The staff are brilliant, the rooms spacious and comfortable, if you have an opportunity I recommend the hotel wine tasting……..Shaun is very knowledgeable and a great host

Absolutely superb. Very nice small hotel run by absolutely lovely people. Very reasonably priced including breakfast. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable but what makes this superb is the welcome you get, it truly feels you are staying with friends. I would highly recommend it and will always try to stay here when passing by again.

Hidden gem! Only stayed for one night. Clean comfortable and very welcoming atmosphere. The food was wonderful in the beautiful garden.

What a little gem. We only went for lunch but was really impressed. The wine list was outstanding. I am so glad we found this hotel. We will definitely stay there next year. Food was excellent. Reminded me of a little boutique hotel in Goa. Absolutely wonderful.

Precioso hotelito, lleno de detalles, muy bien decorado y cómodo. El desayuno está bien, y mejor aún si se toma en el jardín. Tiene un restaurante para tener en cuenta. Comimos realmente bien, también en el jardín. Pero lo mejor de todo es la atención de todos los que trabajan allí. Nosotros tuvimos contacto especialmente con Beatriz y con Toñi y fueron un encanto. Volveremos.
