The only thing that could be improved is the quality of the internet, but this is likely related to the quality of the internet in the entire village. About Vergina: Vergina is associated with historically significant figures such as Philip of Macedon and Alexander the Great. The restaurants in the center of Vergina are not recommended. If you are traveling by car from Bulgaria, Hotel Archontiko Dimitra is very convenient for a stopover on the way to Igoumenitsa or Athens.

This is possibly the best place to stay in Vergina! A quiet and leafy location with beautiful views, yet a short distance from all the historical sites. ‘Dimitra’ is the epitome of genuine Greek hospitality. A family run and truly personal hotel of very high standards. Comfortable, clean and well appointed rooms, balconies and terraces and a fabulous breakfast spread. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and this warmth continued to the final ‘goodbyes’ and photographs and roses pressed into our hands. We will definitely be back and urge anyone looking for a place run with real heart to stay here.

The hotel is run by Dimitra, Angelina and Aphrodite, and their welcome could not have been warmer. Our room was large and comfortable, with a sofa in front of the TV and a private balcony. An excellent breakfast buffet rounded off our stay. The archaeological site and museum was within easy walking distance, past the shops and restaurants of downtown Vergina. A great place, and excellent value.

Archontiko Dimitra is an excellent hotel! it is is well located, close to the tavernas and restaurants. The house is beautifully decorated with some very artistic metalwork all over. The rooms are spacious and full of light, the beds are very comfortable, and everything is super clean! we enjoyed a delicious breakfast whilst listening to Classical music. The two ladies running the hotel, Angeliki and Aphrodite, are the perfect hosts. We certainly will be back again!
