There were mold spots on the ceiling, doors, baseboards. The comforter on the bed had mold spots. Room smelled musty. There was a dehumidifier in the room but that doesn’t take existing mold away. Bathroom was grimy. Breakfast was pretty good. Was so happy when I got in my car to drive home.

Ok you have to love dogs or at least tolerate them to like this B & B. The location is perfect. The breakfast is creative and good. The rooms have all the accessories and what you need. I didn’t try the TV so unsure about that but they have Roku. Pam is great to have a conversation with and makes solid recommendations especially food wise. Those reviewers who mentioned the Jacuzzi I had one in my room but didn’t try it. Shower has no curtain…wide open.

It was a small room off of the main house in a row of rooms . It was the Tuscan room . The room was musty upon entering but had a large bed with a lot of towels for shower/ tub. The room had an oil diffuser going which helped some with the smell. The bathroom was dimly lit but had more towels and robes. The tv remote did not work well and there was a night light sensor over the bed on the back wall so that every time you rolled over a light came on - very annoying . Breakfast was good with waffles, juice coffee and sausage . The owner has a nice but very rambunctious dog that has no problem being up on you while eating or drinking - we did not go inside of the house . We had the extra meat and cheese platter -it was ok . We are at Ricardo’s for dinner and it was very good . More like an up done row of rooms vs B and B . The distilleries were great about an hour away.

We first stayed at the Mongomery Inn in 2015, and were delighted to return in 2022! Pam is a wonderful hostess! She is the perfect balance of laid back and attentive. She has fun stories to share and can chat about almost any topic, while at the same time, gives guests space and freedom to enjoy their stays in their own ways. Sadie, the gentle and friendly goldendoodle, is a welcome addition since our previous visit. She greeted us at check-in, and gives the inn a fun, homey feel. The rooms we stayed in both times were quiet, spacious and had everything we want when traveling. We like rooms with a lot of lighting, sitting chairs, and a lot of surfaces to put things on, The rooms have all of that: - They are well-lit with options for overhead lights, a variety of lamps, brightly lit bathrooms, and natural light. We didn't struggle to have enough light, like we do in hotel rooms. - The sitting areas are awesome, and the televisions have complimentary Hulu and Netflix, or you can stream using your own service or cast from a mobile device. We didn't struggle for a place to sit and visit comfortably in our room with another couple whom we traveled with, like we do in hotel rooms. - There are a variety of tables and shelves on which to put things to organize the room and settle right it. We didn't struggle to keep our belongings off the floor, like we do in hotel rooms. Breakfast is efficient, creative and varies each day - the best we've had and any inn! Coffee is avaialble early and there are a lot of other beverage selections. By nature, people who stay at inns are low-maintenance guests. If not, they should be! We don't need fresh towels every day, don't need our room made up every day, and do everything we can to not be a bother or burden to the hostess. We joke that all we need are the three T's: "Towels" - a couple for a week will do, "TP" - plenty of rolls, and "TrasH" - emptied regularly or a bin available for us to take it out ourselves and fresh trash bags. That's part of the charm of staying at an inn - it's like home. All inns have their quirks and flaws. If you are going to nit-pick everything - a loose toilet seat, a burned-out light bulb, cracked or missing tiles, drips of paint, etc., don't stay here. But you will miss out on a great experience! Our only complaint is that the beds aren't very comfortable. The bedding itself is great, but an investment in quality mattresses would be a welcome improvement in the future. We will always stay with Pam when we visit the Lexington area or going anywhere 30-40 minutes from Versailles. If you want a departure from the mundane, tired, stale hotels, we hightly recommend the Montgomery Inn!

We enjoyed our stay here. Good breakfast and comfy accommodations. There is a dog that is very friendly, just in case anyone has allergies. Good location if you're visiting Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve.

My husband and I stayed at the Montgomery Inn B&B this week. The home is well-maintained and beautifully decorated in antiques and period appropriate colors. The home was built in the first part of the twentieth century and each of the rooms has been restored with that in mind. While busy wallpaper can look overwhelming in small spaces, the rooms I visited were large enough to carry it off beautifully. The bed and linens were high-end and very comfortable. The rooms and suites in the main house were my favorites. The decor emphasized the theme of the rooms. Pam, the innkeeper has a great sense humor and kept us entertained. She made us feel like old friends visiting for a few days. Her golden doodle, Sadie was friendly and well-behaved. Our breakfast, served in the railroad dining car-inspired breakfast room was delicious. We were treated to a large portion of Eggs Benedict, cottage potatoes, juice and coffee or tea. I hope we will be visiting the inn to visit with Pam and Sadie again soon!

As mentioned in other reviews, the pictures do not reflect the current state of the BNB and the location is in the middle of a neighborhood. The rooms need some TLC and a deep cleaning. The air return vents were covered in dust, items needed touched with paint, several safety hazards were noticed in our second room and the main house was cluttered. The house is very eclectic. The air conditioner was faulty at best with our room temperature hovering around 78 degrees until the early morning hours. If you like to sleep with a lot of light, the room was great, but we like a dark room and had to rig up ways to cover the light coming in from the porthole style window and the glass door. Breakfast was good and the coffee featured several options for creamers. That was great! There is an on-site dog that was beautiful and sweet but not trained. Dog nose at table height right by our bowls and “dancing” with owner frequently through the course of our breakfast which created an uncomfortable environment. The experience was definitely unique and one that we will laugh about for years to come, but we will not be returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Montgomery Inn. I'm puzzled with some of the critical reviews. Don't stay in a 100 year old house if you expect everything to be pristine and look brand new! The antiques and creaky floors are what make a place like this so charming. We stayed in the Colonial suite and it was very clean and beautifully decorated. Lots of antiques. Breakfast was great and Pam even made us a breakfast to take with us when we needed to leave early one morning. We hit lots of distilleries and a great horse tour in the area and liked that we were within walking distance of downtown Versailles. We liked the cute Bourbon bar downtown and were excited that there was a street fair with a band on Saturday evening. We loved walking a different way downtown each evening to look at different historical houses in the neighborhood. We also loved her adorable inn dog, Sadie! What a sweetheart. We would stay here again.
