Great
AAndyTraveling with family (2 adults + 3 kids) from USA. We had a great time there. Kids absolutely the pools/beach/soccer field/the grill/pizza restaurant by the pool. Very quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We have been to Tahiti before and found this Marriott Momi Bay is even more relaxing, romantic, and picturesque than Tahiti. But there are also some pros: 1) the location is in the middle of nowhere (though no so far from Nadi). So once you are there, you will be pretty much stuck there; 2) food at the main restaurant is just average. They have an Asian food section for breakfast/dinner buffet, but quite a joke (to our standards, as Chinese Americans). The fish bar is awesome but requires a bit of walking/buggy ride; 3) snorkeling wise, the fish is not as colorful as in Tahiti, but is still very good; and 4) the layout of our room (2 beds by the pond) is not so much different from an upscale city business hotel.
Overall, if you are just looking for a relaxing time in a resort, this would absolutely be great place. But if you are looking for a new cultural/food/city adventure, this would not be the right place.
GGuest UserWe arrived at the hotel after an early flight, and the front desk lady was so kind as to upgrade our room. Although we had to wait a few hours for it to be ready, the ocean-facing room we finally got was absolutely stunning! The hotel is elegant, with great beaches and surf. The food at both Toba and Nova restaurants was excellent, reasonably priced, and the service was spot on. They even thoughtfully prepared breakfast boxes for us before we left the next day, which was a really thoughtful touch. It would have been perfect if the room had more bottled water.
AAozhouyuminThe hotel is gorgeous, and the lagoon was absolutely full of fish! I'll definitely make sure to spend more time fishing next time! It's so beautiful! My parents really loved it. We even booked a room where we could fish right outside the door!
HHermesmiffyI think the hotel overall is pretty good. The breakfast was good, the TAVU restaurant which serves grill food was excellent. The view from the hotel is definitely great. However, WIFI service has to be charged, the dinner buffet was disappointed and horrible, and more importantly the hotel itself is kinda old that the facilities in the room are broken or nearly broken. Definitely renovation is needed.
GGuest UserI had a disappointing experience relating to service. My room had no wifi upon check in. I made the staff aware of this straight away, yet nothing was done until mid-morning the next day after I insisted it be resolved. All up I had to visit reception 2 times and call reception 5 times before they finally sent someone for a rather quick fix. When I called reception (outside of check in/out hours) often there was no answer. Furthermore, I paid for an oceanview room with 2 single beds, at check in I confirmed this was what I booked and requested that the room was not overlooking the pool. All these requests were ignored, and I was given a pool room with 1 bed, with no explanation for why.
While the staff are friendly (most hospitality staff across Fiji are), for a ”5” Star resort I found the service very lacking.
GGuest UserI stayed at the hotel for 18 days, last month and some staff are very nice and friendly specially the catering, and cleaners, the overall we pay for our stay is far expensive as it is but the condition is not matching enough with what we pay for as the room has cockroaches going around near the basin area, and in the bedroom, specially night time goes in your bed, I complained so many times with nothing being done, the whole room needs upgrading, they need more washing machines as it was heavy rains throughout the week with only 1/2 machines being used all the time and i ended up going to families place with my loads of washing, even though it’s convenient to Lautoka town, the food is the same every morning but it caters for everyone is trully a blessing as staff there are very supportive, friendly, otherwise the whole Hotel needs a new Face with new maintenance to match with class, and worth for our moneys worth🙏🏽
KKotch V.We had a lovely stay at Mercure Nadi with our whole family and few friends! 💛 The service was great — the staff, especially the receptionists, housekeeping, waiters and waitresses, were warm, friendly, and attentive. The hotel also offers good facilities, and while it may not have the full amenities of a five-star resort, the people and atmosphere definitely made up for it.
My only complaint would be the bed — I wish it were softer, as I didn’t get the best sleep over the past few days. 😅 Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to enjoy the pool because of a packed schedule, but it looked really inviting!
Overall, a pleasant experience in Fiji. Vinaka! 🌺
KKenneth LALOTokatoka was an excellent choice for me as a customer TRANSITING through Fiji due to its ideal location to the airport. I used the trip.com app to do an online booking with a good deal literally minutes before enjoying a 10-minute walk from Nadi International Airport to the resort.
Was welcomed with a cool orange juice while waiting to check in at the counter.
Didn't have enough time to visit the whole resort as I was tired from the trip, but my observations and first impressions of Tokatoka are as follows:
1. Ideal location to Airport (walking distance)
2. Very friendly stuff with great customer service
3. Free airport transport transfer provided
4. Room could be better decorated (#114)
5. My Highlight: Great restaurant and bar area with amazing pool design. There's also a playground area for kids, which is a bonus.
Overall rating, 4.5/5 🙏🏼🇵🇬
GGuest UserReception comes with a warm welcome, then the real thing started.
Finding a room with Aircond took 1 hour.
In an area with no taxi, reception often mark up $10 for calling one for you.
No food or store around, hotel food close at 6pm.
There is thief trying to get in and knock on doors from 8pm to 1am. They are led by security to check if no one then open the door to search for valuables.
Reception and a strong guy knock on the door at 1am and told me to pay again by cash because my previous payment card denied. I show them my credit debit record, and refused to be rip off.
There is bed bugs and cockroach in the room as well as on the bed.
Water from tab is yellow.
Given 2 small soap, no shampoo, no others
I would suggest to take something with free airport pick up. Never recommend this hotel as it’s a rip off.
SSharneelFirstly, good location despite the poor road condition (nothing had changed in 16 years since I left Fiji, still.libe Fiji and this isn't the hotels fault).
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly.
This hotel is in need of some serious renovations such as toilet/shower/fittings upgrade.
The aircon barely worked and the moulds in the bathroom are worse than 1 star. Please management do something about your amenities and fittings, they are NOT in a great condition. I can go on but would be better if the hotel management contacts me. Thanks.
