Our stay at the GPH was lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient. We had a delayed check in which the team sorted out in a way that we were all happy. Florine was excellent, helping us with all issues before and during the stay with a high level of efficiency and professionalism. Vika, Dee, Jane, Kalei, Viti, Neha and the duty managers were all excellent and helped us enjoy our stay. Rooms were clean, we understand the hotel is set to be renovated which will bring it up to the standard of other 5 star intercontinental hotels.

Great included breakfast and internet, friendly staff, the room was clean and well equipped. The location is a bit far away from Denarau for day trips but we had hired a car so we were able to explore the Coral Coast instead. Popular resort with families, pool can get a bit crowded. Perhaps would benefit from a separate adults only pool. The resort grounds are beautiful and really well kept. We found the drinks to be a bit pricey and the cocktail list not very good, would have liked to see more classic cocktails. Overall we had a good time, though I'm not sure I would book this resort again for a couples holiday.

We are an elderly couple. After arriving in Fiji, we found out how right we were to choose Leisure City Apartment. The property is well-equipped, clean and tidy, and has a very good location. You can find a large supermarket, bakery, bank, Burger King, at least two Chinese restaurants, and a Chinese supermarket in a 10-minute walk. Life is very convenient. The landlord is from Beijing and has lived in Fiji for more than ten years. He knows the local area very well. Because Fiji has more than 300 islands, and 20 to 30 of them have been developed, the landlord became our consultant and recommended two tourist islands with great tourism value. The tropical islands made us very happy. Usually we don't like to eat out, we like to cook by ourselves; so our homestay has obvious advantages. The kitchen here is very large, with a large refrigerator, a four-burner gas stove, an electric rice cooker, and a complete set of pots and pans. The next day we went to the supermarket to buy a local chicken, and cooked a large pot of chicken soup with carrots and potatoes, which was very delicious. The landlord is very enthusiastic. He drives to the farmer's market a few kilometers away every day to purchase agricultural and sideline products. Every time he asks us if we want to go and see? We drove with him twice and bought beef, eggs, local vegetables and fruits. The landlord has two cars to provide convenience to guests. In addition to the appropriate fees we asked him to pick us up at the airport, he took us to the pier twice and took us to the farmer's market twice, all for free. That night, the landlord also gave us fried breadfruit, a local specialty made by his wife, which was very crispy and delicious. The islands in Fiji are very beautiful, and the local indigenous people of Fiji are very warm and friendly to tourists, but Fiji is indeed still a developing country. The overall impression of Fiji left on us is very good; of course, this good feeling comes in large part from our landlord. So I would like to take this opportunity to write a message to thank our landlord again!

ETA for our flight was 6:30am. We arrived with 3 other flights and to make it worse, there was no electricity at the airport. We didn’t think anyone was still going to wait for us but our beautiful host Holeva was still waiting 3 hours later. She greeted us with the most beautiful and warm smile together with Koli. Even though she was up early 5:00 to 5:30 at the office preparing to host another family, she would always make time to see if we were okay or if we needed anything. Our villa was beautiful and we had the most gorgeous views of the mangroves and the Sleeping giants in the distance. It was peaceful and relaxing. The villa provided the essentials and it was comfortable and spacious. We had no neighbours so we had total privacy. Tv didn’t have any reception but that’s okay because we spent our days basking in the sun and enjoying the view. Holeva, you went above and beyond to make our holiday a memorable one and it was. Vinaka vaka levu….nisa moce!!!

Overall a poor experience. Customer service. Most of the staff are nice and friendly and have the bula spirit, however our stay was tainted by some unfriendly staff at the main restaurant by the pool, which some of the staff don’t want to help providing baby chair and just forgot about the requests after all. The restaurant staff just simply looks very unhappy or tired for some reasons. We have met some very friendly face and lovely staff, but it was unfortunate the restaurant customer service is consistently horrible. Front desk staff shows don’t show the same level of hospitality as to other hotels we stay in Fiji. Room: It’s showing it’s aged but the view is fantastic and room is well equipped and spacious, it suits well for family with a plan to cook. We notified the staff that two of the pendant lights aren’t working on day one. Yet nothing is fixed until check out. Food: We try buffet breakfast and dinners at the main restaurant and also take away from the red Buddha restaurant. Breakfast is pretty standard and average considering it’s Hilton, we stay at many Hilton hotels before, the food is one of the worst experience we had, in particular the buffet dinner, choices are very limited, it’s pretty much just a corner of food , pretty subpar comparing to Sofitel or Sheraton. Overall. With similar price it is hard to recommend this hotel to family especially with kids, the staff seems to have too much trouble to handle the demand of young kids and didn’t stand up to the great Hilton branding which is a bit of a shame. Rooms got beautiful view, foods aren’t great. The only bright spot would be the spacious hotel room.

Usaia is the best employee here. His unbelievable service made my honeymoon perfect and fantastic. He recommended and taught me lots of information here in Sheraton and Fiji. Actually, we were only one Asian couple, so everything was too new for us, but bying talking with Usaia, he made us feel relaxed and better. I highly recommend Sheraton because of Usaia and his service. Thank you, Usaia. I will never forget you and your kindness

GGuest UserMy wife and I spent 7 amazing nights here! The resort has everything, you don’t even have to leave! You can catch a 45 minute cab ride to port denaru for some adventure experiences of course, but so much to do here. Isikeli and Jim - as well everyone else at the water sports area were awesome! The 5 hr cruise with snorkel and wave runner safaris were definitely worth it. Joey over at the fish bar is great and pours some good drinks. Missi and Adam with activities also some great people to run into for a soccer game on the beach. Marcus was the friendliest person to run into everywhere at the resort throughout the day. Simon at the front lobby will help square you away with whatever you need. We had a lagoon view bure which was a home away from not wanting to go back home. Walk right into the lagoon from the beach or sit on your balcony while reading a book. All in all could not recommend this resort more. Safest part of the trip is was having to leave.
GGuest UserWe had a great stay at the Fiji Gateway hotel! The rooms were clean and in great condition and the showers had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water - perfect for helping us relax as we continued our trip. As opposed to other hotel rooms in Fiji, the air conditioning worked great and the safe in the room was in good working condition - something that is always important for protecting your valuables and travel documents. This was a perfect place for us to stay when we had to fly out of Nadi airport for our flight to the island of Taveuni. On this night, we ate at the restaurant which had excellent, friendly staff and good food. But the thing we remember the most about this hotel were the 2 live musicians Igenasio and Joape who play in the bar and restaurant. During our meal, I kept pausing and saying to my wife, ”listen to this awesome music”! Just about every day for the rest of our trip I kept saying to my wife, ”did I say how awesome those musicians at the Fiji Gateway hotel were?” On our final night in Fiji, just before we went to Nadi airport, we went back to the Fiji Gateway hotel to see if Igenasio and Joape were playing in the restaurant and bar area. Guess what? They were! I was beyond excited to see them and told them that we came back to the hotel just to find them. They did not disappoint and played 2 songs that we requested as well as songs requested by others. They are a great duo and they complement each other with their lead singing and harmony. We'll always remember this final night in Fiji at the Gateway Hotel!
GGuest UserWe were lucky enough to experience the Adults Only Waitui Beach Club Package which gave us a little bit more luxury of being pampered at the Spa and entry into the more sophisticated Journal Lounge. At the lounge we had daily complimentary high tea which was delightful, Bubbly with Breakfast and delicious complimentary sunset cocktails or Gin and Tonic with a beer for Hubby! The staff in the Executive Lounge went above and beyond with their service, in particular Payal who had such grace and Professionalism, Kara with her infectious laugh and Agnes who was a delight with her quiet demeanor. Mili, Loyalty Supervisor, thank you for checking with us that our stay was meeting our expectation (which it was) and giving us an insight on how the resort was travelling since Covid. Waitui Beach Club Grill...you cook an excellent steak and your staff's recommendation of the fish curry was spot on considering I hadn't tasted one before. Thank you to your staff who always made us feel welcome, especially Vau who always remembered our names throughout our stay! A big thank you to Claire too for indulging me with some French conversation which I remembered from my school days! Finally, thank you to Solo for your professionalism and friendly nature in both checking us in and out. We ran out of paper to note down more staff but please note you are all exceptional too. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!
GGuest UserThis is not up to standard with a 5-star resort. Overall it’s a nice stay, but overpriced and don’t go expecting 5-star luxury. It unfortunately has not kept up with the maintenance it has needed over the years.
Negatives
- had aircon issues and slept without aircon, they moved us rooms to fix this
- had a leak above our shower in both tooms
- fridge was broken in both rooms
- lack of pool towels for number of guests, tried getting a pool towel on multiple occasions to be told they were out. When we eventually got some they were stained.
- lack of snorkle gear for guests, we unfortunately couldn’t snorkle because they were always out. We spoke to other guests who went and bought some because they couldn’t get any either
- aircon in rooms is very loud
- internet access drops out constantly
- we couldn’t watch tv as the internet was down for netflix on the tv and we were told we could only watch it on phones or ipads
- food menus in the room are dirty and falling apart
Positives
- most of the staff is really friendly
- adults only pool is calm and quiet
- good assortment of activities and things to do in the hotel
- staff is mostly helpful when you need things
We actually tried to refund the end of our stay so we could leave. I wouldn’t recommend it to people and just know if you do stay here it is more like a 3 to 4 star resort.
GGuest UserI stayed here for two nights in a dorm, lodge 1. I had a top bunk and there wasn’t a railing so I was pretty worried about falling out. Also there weren’t any plugs inside the room - only one outside in the washroom area. Apparently the other dorm lodges do have plugs and railings though.
Food is only at set times but was pretty reasonably priced! I had the split pea soup for dinner one night (5/5!) and a veggie curry the following (3/5) and a veggie burger for lunch (4.5/5). Complimentary breakfast was pretty basic but good enough! They had soy and almond milk available.
There is a cute ethical shop/cafe nearby which is so nice but other than that I don’t think there’s much else within walking distance in terms of shops.
The resort had daily activities to get involved with which is a bonus!! The pool was also very nice and the beach is great for snorkelling!
My favourite part of the beach house was the shower in the washroom area attached to the dorm/lodge. It was an outside area but secluded and the shower pressure was insane!! And nice warm water. However, the toilet itself smelt pretty bad and I didn’t dare go near it.
GGuest UserMyself and the family stayed at the Intercontinental late May 2023 and had a lovely time. The resort and grounds are in great condition and well maintained. We had a beach view room on the ground level which was wonderful as it came with a well sized outdoor patio. The beach is amazing, one of the best I have seen at Fiji, there was the option for some waves at one end of the resort while at the other end was much calmer and shallow for a long way which was great for a 5 year old to play around in. The pools were a bit cold but that was great as meant more time in the ocean. The day beds were great and could generally one someone along the beach. Food was not bad and of course the staff were amazingly friendly again.
GGuest UserWell the staff and people are all to accomodating. Lovely people , helpful and try very hard. Friendly and do their best. Rooms are dated and need maintenance, they were half empty so perfect time to do a room at a time. The bed has been turned around from the side of the room to the middle. Good outlook , but now no PowerPoints to charge phones etc. light switch you have to get out of bed to switch lights off at front door now. Configuration is out of whack. These need doing asap. No toilet roll holder. Just screw holes where it was originally. After complaining they fitting one. Shower head needed to move around to get wet. There are pack of dogs that frequent back of the resort. My first night I arrived 12 midnight. Dogs yelped and barked to 2am from what I know because I finally fell asleep. I told them about it. Seemed like they had some workers chase them away for a few nights. But there was 2 more nights the barking happened again. So 3 out of 6 night. Breakfast was good. But no bacon 3 days out of 6. Not on. Money exchange rate was awful. 1 to 1.30 Fiji. I actually went to resort up the road 1 to 1.42 , the taxi through the hotel was 30 Fiji dollars dearer than the rest. Example went to ghecko resort for dinner. 60 Fiji return trip taxi I booked. Hotel wanted 100. Need a profit but not accomodating guest very well. Booked outside all transport. Dinner was good assortment. But went out few times. Better cuisine outside. No wifi in the rooms or resort unless you go to the front reception area. Big drama. Heard numerous people saying this is ridiculous and checked out early. One couple booked in. Went to there room. Ask at reception where’s the wifi. Told only available here in reception. They said check us out now. We are going elsewhere. Could be a lovely resort. Staff workers are all there. Area and position is good. Just need management to get their stuff together. First is wifi immediately and then rooms maintenance
GGuest UserThe road to the resort is a bit bumpy and nothing is really near to the resort (restaurants/ convenient stores etc.), so you will need to call a taxi every time you need to go out or get supplies. The room itself is not super bright and the furnitures were a bit wear out. The resort is literally on a beach, so do expect to have quite some mosquito whenever you are on your way back to your room, and it's also tricky for travellers with big luggages to carry their bags to their rooms, since there are few steps of stairs to the door of your room and the pathway is sand. However, if you are here for a short stay, I think it would be ok to look past that.
If you are looking to stay for a night in Nadi, and going to the islands for the next few days, I suggest looking for other accommodations in downtown Nadi, such as Nalagi Hotel. As we drive past other hotels such as Mercury Hotel, it seems like a motel as well, so it might be best to look for something downtown.
AAnonymous UserStaying at the hotel was a good experience. We were welcomed with bright smiles by the staff. They escort us to our room, explain everything about the room and then remind us that they will always be there if we need any help. The room that we booked is facilitated well. The location is the best as it has the best view I have ever seen. You can see the sunset from your balcony as well as mountains and also you can clearly see the nafi airport sign as you can see on the photo. The hotel is clean and they do room services everyday. Also, they always remind their guests about their breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their service was soo good. Everything about this hotel is brilliant. LOVED IT!
ZZhangzuxun1. It is relatively close to the airport, about 3 kilometers, and a taxi is about 20 Fijian dollars.
2. The internal environment of the hotel is good, and the guest rooms are equivalent to single-story townhouses.
3. There is a large outdoor swimming pool, but there was no water and it was not open during this check-in.
4. There is no restaurant. Meals need to be eaten at the coffee bar outside. There are no other restaurants nearby.
5. There is no drinking water or shampoo or shower gel in the room.
In short, it feels like it’s just a place to sleep.
