Ogle Haus Inn

We stayed on a whim. They are the most kind staff. I read threw the other review and most are not true. They have done alot of renovating and it has paid off. It's clean and dosent smell anymore. It could use a breakfast and they have the area but its not done yet. And if you talk to them they tell you the history of it. The view of the river was great. But need chairs to sit out on. Hopefully they continue on there path it really was a good stay and all the changes are paying off.

Reservations were made many weeks in advance. The rates were quite high, which I knew but was willing to pay for a nice retreat for my grandkids and me. Upon arrival, we were told our rooms were marked unavailable. After 45 minutes, rooms were opened up for us...king suite and adjoining queen. No AC in queen room. No TV service in queen room. Several lamps without bulbs in both rooms. The pool was closed due to "crushed glass being in the bottom." However, no one ever came to clean it or even look at it, in the 2 and a half days we were there. Jacuzzi not working in king suite. A "resident" man who is hired by Bel Terra via some international employment outfit to work at ******, aggressively approached my granddaughter while she was sunbathing on deck outside our rooms. He was talking foreign and making wild, suggestive hand motions; he came within 3 ft. of her. I reported the incident. This is so sad, as the Ogle Haus was beautifully built and was once a spectacular hotel with a restaurant, a bar, clean facilities, full, friendly staff....it is run down now, filthy hallway carpets with no amenities to speak of. My family and I have come for years, but, sadly, we will not return. This establishment is not for public enjoyment. It is still so beautiful when you walk in the lobby, and the river views are impressive; however, that is where the charm begins and ends. This once classy establishment has been so pitifully disrepected. What a terrible shame.

Rooms are very dated, very few plug-ins for phones, computer, etc - none on night stand and only one on the lamp at the desk, and only one other room outlet even accessible. They do not serve any breakfast - no grab and go, no coffee, no bagels in plastic bags. Not where i would generally stay but the options are very limited in the area.
